Francesco Guidolin managed to keep Swansea in the Premier League last season and therefore earned himself a new contract, however I think that they will struggle again this season and their results in August haven’t changed my mind. They won on the opening day of the season against new-boys Burnley, but then lost to Hull and Leicester and this has left them in 14th place at the moment. They did beat Peterborough in the capital one cup, but I don’t think anyone can read too much into that result and performance. They lost captain Ashley Williams in the summer and their centre-backs Jordi Amat and Federico Fernandez don’t fill me with too much confidence, they seem to always have a mistake in them and Guidolin will need all his Italian defensive knowledge to make Swansea hard to break down. The Swansea fans will be hoping that Borja Baston will be ready to play as they do need a spark up front; fellow new-boy Fernando Llorente has struggled in his first couple of games for the club and both league goals that Swansea have scored have been scored by midfielder Leroy Fer.

Chelsea

Chelsea have made a perfect start to their season with three league wins and progress in the capital one cup. Antonio Conte needed late goals against West Ham and Watford for victory but they were very comfortable against Burnley when they won 3-0 but it could have been five or six if it wasn’t for the form of the opposing keeper. Most if not all of Chelsea’s first team squad have come back from the international break without any injuries and this means Conte will be able to choose his favoured eleven on Sunday. Eden Hazard has discovered his form from two seasons ago when he won the PFA player of the year award and this isn’t good news for the Swansea back-line as he will be confident of causing Fernandez and Amat problems. Chelsea did lose to Swansea last season when they met at the Liberty Stadium but before that they were unbeaten in nine Premier League games against the Swans and I fancy them to win here for my Premier League predictions.
