This weekend’s highly anticipated Manchester derby was always going to prove a rather captivating affair when all is said and done. With both Mourinho and Guardiola going toe-to-toe for the very first time among the English top-flight, it’s no surprise just how much Saturday’s 12:30 kick-off really served to excite and enthral every Premier League onlooker seeking their next slice of weekend sporting action.
And although Mourinho’s Red Devils certainly put up a valiant effort in-front of the notoriously expectant Old Trafford faithful last time out among the Premier League, Guardiola’s City proved the ultimate victors in the end with a respectable 2-1 away triumph recorded on the day.
Manchester City fans from far and wide clearly woke up this morning with renewed fortunes on their side…

…it’s pretty easy to see why most Manchester City supporters couldn’t be found in greater spirits right in the here and now…
Still manage to win without their best striker and defender. Man city gonna be a big team this season.

Yet there were nonetheless several significant question-marks surrounding the fate of Pep Guardiola’s new keeper among the English top-flight after yesterday’s performance…
Had it not been for a poor performance from Bravo, that would have been a comfortable win for City. Deserved win.

…and whilst Manchester United could have certainty performed a whole lot better on the day…
City deserved the win today. Far better side and Pep managed the game to perfection. De Bruyne was immense man, total class all game.

…Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again proved why he’s still right at the top of his game, even at 34-years-old…
I'm happy for Zlatan although we lost everyone can tell he's still got it in him. 34 & still scoring bangers.

The same level of praise seemingly can’t be pointed in the direction of Paul Pogba however…
Paul Pogba is a poor man's Fernandinho. Fact.

…for the expensive Frenchman simply made very little impact whatsoever against Manchester United’s local rivals when provided the opportunity…
#Pogba had no composure, poor concentration and lack of awareness about him. Don't give me that positional nonsense. £89 million man!! #MUFC

Although the future remains bright for the Red Devils under Jose Mourinho then, the former Chelsea favourite arguably has his work cut out ahead of him if he is to really bring the good times back to Old Trafford once and for all…
City deserved that tbh. We were hopeless in the first half. Mourinho has a lot of work to do but it's early days yet. #MUFC
