Football Accumulator Tips 4th September

Northampton v MK Dons – Draw

Northampton love a draw. They remain unbeaten in the league this season, but have drawn 0-0 twice and 1-1 three times. They just can’t seem to get over the line and collect three points. They’ve added Paul Anderson from Bradford on deadline day and he should give them some added impetus going forward. Robert Page is desperate to get his first 3 points, but MK Dons are tough opposition. They came undone at home to Peterborough last weekend but they’ve collected maximum points in their two away trips this season. Karl Robinson’s side still lack goals, but they’re solid at the back. They’ve also added a winger with the addition of Ryan Colclough on loan from Wigan and they could be dangerous going forward.

Botafogo v Gremio – Botafogo win

Gremio sit 6th in Serie A and are 7 places above today’s opponents. They completely dominated their match on Sunday against Atletico MG with over 20 shots during the first 75 minutes, but they couldn’t keep their opposition out and ended up with another point. It’s now 3 draws in 5 for Gremio and they need to start turning the single points into three if they’re going to sneak into the top spots. Away from home, they’ve only won one of the last five, losing three of them. Botafogo have won 5 of their 10 home matches this season and three victories in the last four suggest they’re enjoying playing here of late. They recently beat top of the table Palmeiras here and they’ll be tough to beat on their own patch.

Zaragoza v Huesca – Zaragoza win

It’s still early days in La Liga 2 in Spain with both of these sides only having played two games this season. Zaragoza have picked up a victory and a draw from their opening two games. Six goals in two games isn’t to be sniffed at and they should be able to put a couple past Huesca. The home side won 7 of their last 9 games here at the back end of last season and they should continue to be strong this campaign. Huesca had mixed form on the road last season, but only won four matches in 2016 and there is room for improvement. Their first away game resulted in a goalless draw with Alcorcon. These two sides often draw when they meet, but I think the home side can narrowly edge this.

Carpi v Benevento – Carpi win

Carpi are back in Serie B after relegation last season. Despite a poor campaign, they won three of their last five home games and made a fist of staying up. They are at home here after a 2-0 win over Vicenza on the opening day of the season. Their opening home game should result in three more points. They also have a victory here in the Coppa Italia against Maceretese. Benevento were promoted to Serie B and they started off with a victory over Spal, fellow promoted side. It’s always good to get off the mark but that was significantly weaker opposition and away from home, I think they’ll come undone.

Rhyl v Cardiff Metropolitan – Rhyl win

Rhyl won on Wednesday night and picked up their first points of the season. They also scored their first goals of the season seeing off Aberystwyth in a 3-1 victory. It’ll kick start their season and they can claim back to back wins here at home. Cardiff Metropolitan have had a poor start scoring just a single goal in their opening 4 matches of the season. They’ve lost three and drawn one and away from home, they might struggle here. Rhyl will have confidence to go on and climb the table and although it’s still early days in the Welsh leagues, I think they can take all three points.
