Both Teams to Score 16th August

Norwich v Bristol City

Bristol City sit top of the table after two games, but it’s mainly thanks to their last minute goalscoring exploits. They would have just two points if it wasn’t for 90th minutes goals. They’ve conceded in both matches so far and stopping Norwich could prove difficult. Lee Johnson’s side are positive though and won’t be fazed by facing the former Premier League. The Canaries kept a clean sheet at the weekend, but Blackburn managed to find the net and Alex Neil’s side may find the partnership of Abrahams and Kodjia too lively. It should be a fantastic game with plenty of chances. The Norwich manager said he was pleased with the way his side dug in against Sheffield Wednesday, but they had a poor second 45 and any moments like that could help Bristol City find a way back into the game.

Gillingham v Swindon

The Gills are top of the table after 6 points from a possible 6. They’ve scored 8 goals in their three games (league and cup) and conceded 3. They will take some stopping at the Priestfield this season. They were lucky that Bury didn’t create much in the final third on Saturday as they came unstuck from a Tom Soares cross which was nodded in by Tom Pope. The home side have Jay Emmanuel Thomas and Cody McDonald up top with the likes of Ryan Jackson and Paul Konchesky providing ammunition from wide areas and they should find the net here. Swindon scored against Chesterfield at the weekend but it was too little too late. They looked poor at the back and will be looking to bounce back. If they get at Gillingham they might have some luck but Jonathon Obika needs to find his shooting boots sooner rather than later. Luke Norris will also be keen to score against the club he left just a few weeks ago.

AFC Wimbledon v Scunthorpe

Wimbledon need some points from this match, but it won’t be easy for Neal Ardley’s side. The Dons were unlucky to lose to Bolton at the weekend. A couple of deflections left them floundering at the back as they failed to hold onto the lead. They should find the net here as they have done in all three matches this season. It took two goals from Fleetwood before Scunthorpe started playing. It was a decent result at Highbury for Graham Alexander’s side but it needed a wonder goal from Kevin Van Veen to pull them level. They have plenty going forward and Wimbledon’s defending is cause for concern but in Lyle Taylor they have a goalscorer who can provide a spark. This one should be entertaining as Scunthorpe look to stay unbeaten this season and the home side search for their first points of the new campaign, add it to your both teams to score bet this week.

Mansfield v Yeovil

Both of these sides have made solid starts to the campaign. Mansfield beat Newport in the last minute on the opening weekend before picking up a point against Cheltenham on Saturday. Adam Murray has done a decent job strengthening his side and making them very hard to beat. Yeovil won their opening match 2-0 before holding an impressive Luton side to a 1-1 draw at the weekend. They look difficult to beat and have enough spirit about them to push up the table. Tom Eaves’ first goal should give him the confidence to aim towards double figures and Mansfield have shipped 8 games in 3 games so far so look ideal for our BTTS tip. Yeovil are a little sturdier at the back but the Stags always find a way to score and with Danny Rose and Matt Green ably supported by Kevan Hurst they create plenty of opportunities.
