Leeds vs Fulham predictions for the 7:45 kick in the Championship on Tuesday night including the three best football tips
There have been contrasting starts for both of these teams at the beginning of the season, but can Leeds put their miserable run behind them or can Fulham extend their winning streak?
Leeds v Fulham Betting Preview
Leeds
It’s been a worrying start for Garry Monk. The former Swansea man insists he’ll get it right and his players can’t be quite so soft in future matches. They failed to beat an average Birmingham side who were without a goal in their opening two matches and it won’t have done Monk any favours as he looks to get the crowd on his side.
It follows the Whites squeezing through their tricky EFL Cup match against Fleetwood, needing the assistance of penalties to make it into round 2.
There have been plenty of new faces with Hadi Sacko getting on the scoresheet at the weekend and Marcus Antonsson coming agonisingly close to claiming a point for his new club. The Swede does look handy having netted a vital equaliser in the cup.
Perhaps the ongoing transfer saga involving Charlie Taylor hasn’t helped morale, but Monk needs to pick his side up and go again as the hectic fixture schedule takes no prisoners at this level.
Monk will be pleased to back at home again and will urge the crowd to get behind the side, but he won’t be pleased to see the visitors are an unbeaten Fulham who arrive with their tails up.
‘Nasty players’ were quoted as being missing for the Elland Road outfit and perhaps with the addition of Liam Bridcutt it gives them a bit more bite in the middle of the park.
Fulham will be happy to battle in this one as they look to take all the points back to West London so Leeds can’t display the soft underbelly which has hindered them so far.
Another defender is definitely required though. Sol Bamba, Liam Cooper and Kyle Bartley are the three main centre backs with the former often Injured, it looks a little low on cover.
If Monk can unlock the talent in Alex Mowatt this season, then the attacking midfielder can be a match winner for his side. He has to find his best team and stop the rot on Tuesday night.
Fulham
Unlike their opponents everything is rosy in the Fulham garden at the moment. An unexpected 1-0 win at home to Newcastle was followed by a win In 90 minutes against Leyton Orient and then a victory at Deepdale.
The Cottagers scored twice and survived the threat of a comeback from Preston to hold on for all three points. It means maximum points for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side and they have shown great togetherness.
Many people tipped them to struggle this season with Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele both being sold in the summer, but Matt Smith and Sone Aluko have proved those worries were misplaced. Smith has scored twice and following his injury lay-off looks back to his best. He is a nuisance in the air and the Leeds defenders won’t relish playing against the former Oldham man.
Rumours of Tom Cairney’s departure have seemingly abated which is a relief for Fulham fans as the midfielder can be instrumental at times and could be a big player this season.
The teams drew 1-1 last season on both occasions and that result would maintain Fulham’s unbeaten run. Although Jokanovic would be happy with an away draw, he will encourage his side to push on and exploit the shaky Leeds backline.
Summer signing Sone Aluko says his side are confident of getting a result on their travels and the former Hull man can be a thorn in the Leeds side. He scored his first goal of the season on Saturday but he is constantly buzzing about and is a difficult man to track for 90 minutes.
For a side who were flirting with relegation last season, it’s been an impressive start. Crucially they’ve only conceded 1 goal in the 2 league games so far and that was a huge area of weakness last season.
Leeds v Fulham Predictions
The prices for both sides are fairly well matched. This one could easily end all square, but there’s a togetherness about Fulham that I like and is edging me towards backing the Cottagers for my Leeds vs Fulham betting tip this week. The spluttering Leeds machine could kick start at any moment though. However, I’d prefer to back Fulham on the Draw No Bet market and that’s my first Championship prediction.

Given Leeds’ vulnerabilities at the back, I think they will definitely concede here. Fulham shipped their first league goal against Preston at the weekend and the home side have some impressive forward thinking players. Sacko, Roofe and Dallas I rate highly whilst Antonnsson could be a real handful. These sides also drew 1-1 in both of their meetings last season.

I can’t be backing Chris Wood as the favourite in the anytime goalscorer market. He looked isolated at times at the weekend. I’d prefer to take in-form Matt Smith who is almost certain to start. He is a real threat and could catch the Leeds defence out so my final Leeds vs Fulham prediction is for Matt Smith to score anytime.
