Chelsea vs Leicester City Predictions
Leicester City. Premier League Champions. Sounds strange doesn’t it? An incredible achievement by Ranieri and his men, with the title wrapped up with two games to spare. They’ve lost just three times all season and are on a fantastic run, last weekend’s win over Everton stretched their unbeaten run to 11 games, of which they’ve won eight. They head to Stamford Bridge for the last game of an amazing season in excellent form, can they end their season in style?
They’ll be without Chelsea old boy Robert Huth who is suspended after his clash with Marouane Fellaini in the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford so Marcin Wasilewski will continue to partner Wes Morgan. Jamie Vardy suffered an injury scare in the win over the Toffees but he should be fit to play a part in this one.
Chelsea can’t wait to see the back of this season. It’s been atrocious. If they lose here, they will finish the season with their worst ever total Premier League points haul. They can’t finish higher than ninth, and Antonio Conte will have work to do when he takes over next season if Chelsea are to return to the upper echelons of the league. Their recent form hasn’t been great either, they’ve won just one of their last six as their season looks to peter out.
John Terry misses the last game of the season after his red card in their defeat to Sunderland and could’ve played his last game for Chelsea. Loic Remy is out and Diego Costa is extremely doubtful, but Branislav Ivanovic and Willian may recover from groin and hamstring strains in time to feature here.
Who will win this weekend? Chelsea or Leicester?
I just can’t see past an away win here for my Premier League predictions this weekend. What a way it would be to end this historic season with a win at last season’s Champions. Chelsea want the season over with and I can’t see them putting up too much of a fight, whilst Leicester have been simply incredible. What a season it’s been for Leicester star man Riyad Mahrez. He’s the Premier League player of the season after scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists on his side’s way to the title. He’s definitely worth a shout to get on the scoresheet here as well, particularly at odds of 11/4.
