Tottenham’s title chances are hanging by a threa following Leicester’s draw at Old Trafford yesterday, but this London derby is still huge as Spurs look to keep the race alive with three points and our football tipster has picked out the three best betting tips.
Chelsea vs Tottenham Predictions
Spurs’ 1-1 draw at home to West Bromwich has almost certainly put paid to their chances of getting their hands on the Premier League trophy, but this has still been a magnificent season for Mauricio Pochettino and his men. With a second place finish likely and Champions League football next season assured, the future is looking bright at White Hart Lane. With Pochettino signing a new contract at the club they can build on what they’ve achieved this season and fight to become a regular top four side over the next few seasons. This game is still big for both teams, regardless of Leicester’s result on Sunday. There is a great rivalry between these two and this fixture has provided some goal-laden thrillers over the past few seasons.
Delle Alli will miss this one and the final two games of the season through suspension, and Nabil Bentaleb is likely to miss out too suffering with a knee injury. Erik Dier may be called upon if he’s recovered from the concussion he sustained in last Monday’s game against the Baggies.
Chelsea returned to form with a fantastic 4-1 win away at Bournemouth last weekend after losing to Swansea City and Manchester City in their two previous games. Thoughts are on the new era beginning next season and they’ve been accused of letting this season peter out a little, but they certainly will be up for this one.
Thibaut Courtois misses out again as he’s serving the second of his two match ban so Asmir Begovic will continue in goal. John Terry and Gary Chillingham are hoping to have recovered from injury and illness respectively to play a part here but Loic Remy is still out.
Derbies are hard to predict a lot of the time, but what I do think is there will be goals a plenty here. The reverse fixture back in November was a drab 0-0 draw but there had been 15 goals in the three previous Premier League meetings between the two. I think they’ll be a few in this one too, my first Chelsea v Tottenham prediction is for there to be over 3.5 goals in the game.
