Reading vs Crystal Palace predictions, betting tips and preview for the FA Cup quarter-final tie on Friday 11th March with three football tips from our tipster.
The quarter finals of the FA Cup are upon us as Reading host Crystal Palace at the Madejski Stadium on Friday night and I have three FA Cup predictions for this one.
Reading vs Crystal Palace Predictions
Reading have been in decent form of late, Tuesday night's defeat away at Huddersfield was their first loss in seven. They've been especially impressive at home, they're yet to lose at the Madejski in 2016 so this game will be tough for a Palace side who have been in freefall since the turn of the year.
With the controversial defeat to Liverpool at Selhurst Park last weekend, Palace's winless run stretched to 12 Premier League games, though interspersed in that run were three excellent FA Cup victories away at Southampton, home to Stoke and the fantastic 1-0 win away at Spurs. Their performances have been poor, though against Liverpool they played well in patches, so calling the result in this is tough for my predictions
Reading will be without the cup tied duo of George Evans and Yann Kermorgant as well as the injured Aaron Tshibola. Paul McShane is doubtful but Matej Vydra and Hal Robson-Kanu are in contention.
For Palace, Connor Wickham is out along with James McArthur and Jason Puncheon and Yohan Cabaye is doubtful.
The Royals, semi-finalists in this competition last season, have beaten Premier League opposition on their way to the quarters, winning 3-1 against West Brom, so this won't be easy for Alan Pardew and his men. They're also the competition's leading goalscorers so far this term, scoring 14 goals, and I think they'll be more here. For my first Reading vs Crystal Palace prediction I'm going for there to be over 2.5 goals in the match.
The best odds for over 2.5 goals in Reading v Crystal Palace are 6/5 with Coral.

Whatever way this one goes; I think both teams will score. Wickham being out is a huge blow for Palace, but the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Bolasie will be threats to the Reading backline. Instead of going for a both teams to score bet, for my second Reading vs Crystal Palace betting tip I'm going for both teams to score in the second half. Six of the last eight goals Reading have conceded have come in the second half of games, including all three at Huddersfield, and with neither side particularly wanting a replay I think the second 45 could see a few hit the back of the net.
The best odds for both teams to score in the second half of Reading vs Crystal Palace are 11/4 at Sky Bet.
I'm going for an anytime goalscorer tip for my third Reading v Crystal Palace prediction and my choice is Reading striker Matej Vydra. He's been out for a couple of weeks, but he should start this one and he is the Royals leading goalscorer this season.
What are the best odds for Vydra to score anytime in the FA Cup against Crystal Palace? 14/5 with Ladbrokes.
