Aston Villa v Liverpool predictions and betting tips for this weekend’s Premier League fixture on Sunday 14th February from our football tipster.
Bottom of the table Aston Villa host Liverpool on Sunday as they look to continue with their improved home form and I have three Premier League tips for this one.
Aston Villa v Liverpool Predictions
Villa are unbeaten in their last four games at Villa Park, the latest being a 2-0 over fellow strugglers Norwich City. They are still rooted to the bottom of the league but at least now they're giving themselves a chance to pull off what would be the greatest of escapes.
Liverpool had been great and poor in equal measure in 2015 but since the turn of the year they've been, well, average. They've only won one league game in 2016 and it will be interesting to see if that last gasp defeat to West Ham in the FA Cup has a galvanising or demoralising effect on the Anfield club.
What is the Aston Villa and Liverpool team news for this weekend? The good news for Liverpool is that Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi all came through that game unscathed and Sturridge and Coutinho should start this one. Again, they have problems in defence with Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren out but Steven Caulker could return. For Villa, Jordan Ayew is out through suspension but Rudy Gestede, Alan Hutton and Carlos Sanchez are fit and could play a part.
Like most games this season, this is a tough one to call when picking out football betting tips. On paper it looks like it should be an easy Liverpool win but Liverpool more than most have been frustratingly hard to predict. They do have an excellent record at Villa Park though, they've won each of their last four visits, and with the return of their better players they should do enough for the three points. However, they haven't kept a clean sheet in the league since December. Villa aren't exactly free scoring I know but Jurgen Klopp's men conceded four against a struggling Norwich side and with trouble in defence Villa could nick a goal too.
My first Aston Villa v Liverpool prediction is for Liverpool to win and both teams to score at the best odds of 18/5 at Coral.
In Daniel Sturridge Liverpool have a top class striker and his return from injury bodes well for the club (if he can stay fit that is). With Christian Benteke struggling, Sturridge should start this one. I'm going for him to score first, for my first goalscorer tip,
My next Aston Villa v Liverpool prediction is for Daniel Sturridge to score first; the best odds are 4/1 at Ladbrokes.

For my final tip I'm going for the away side to score in both halves. With the improvement of Roberto Firmino and the return of Sturridge and Coutinho, who looked head and shoulders above their team mates against the Hammers, they should have plenty to have the net bulging both sides of the break. You can get the best odds at Stan James who are offering 85/40.
My final Aston Villa v Liverpool betting tip is for Liverpool to score in both halves and the best odds are currently 85/40 with Stan James.
