Both Teams to Score and Win Tips

Arsenal v Bournemouth – Arsenal to win BTTS

Our opening selection comes from the Premier League as Arsenal host Bournemouth at The Emirates. The hosts were on the end of perhaps the biggest shock in the top flight on Boxing Day, as they were turned over 4-0 by Southampton. Obviously this doesn't offer a huge amount of encouragement ahead of our bet, but The Gunners had won the previous three games on the bounce and have the third best home record in the division. Their opponents come in the form of Bournemouth, who have really kicked on in the last few weeks following a difficult period where they lost a lot of games and several players to injury. The Cherries are now unbeaten in their last six, and although I expect them to cause Arsenal a few problems, Arsene Wenger's men will desperately need a win to get their title challenge back on track. Considering The Gunners' last four home matches have finished with both teams scoring, and Bournemouth have the joint second best ratio in the division for BTTS matches, I can see this being an excellent candidate to get the ball rolling for our bet.

Gillingham v Colchester – Gillingham to win BTTS

The second tick on the coupon comes from League One as high-flying Gillingham welcome Colchester to town. The Gills have recovered from a couple of disappointing results recently to record back to back wins on the road. They now sit in third place in the table, only a point behind the two teams above them. Gillingham are particularly reliable at The Priestfield and currently have the second best home record in the whole of League One. As well as this, Justin Edinburgh’s men are also the second highest scorers in the division and have already recorded some huge wins this season. The visitors on Monday are Colchester United, and you will struggle to find a side in worse form than them in the whole of Europe. They have lost their last eight straight games, and rather predictably, find themselves at the bottom of the table. The chief culprit for their plight is their awful defence which has yielded no fewer than 57 goals already this campaign. This is 18 more than the team above them, and needless to say, is the worst record in the football league. Nevertheless, Colchester do score goals. They currently have the sixth best record in League One for doing so, and also boast the third best ratio for BTTS matches at a whopping 70%.  On paper, this is as good as they come in the score and win market, so stick Gillingham down for the win.

Northampton Town v Accrington Stanley – Northampton to win BTTS

Our final choice comes from League Two as in-form Northampton entertain Accrington at The Sixfields. The hosts will be fresh and raring to go after their Boxing Day clash with York was called off following a waterlogged pitch. Northampton do head into the match in decent form, though, and have only lost twice in their last sixteen matches and also taken 19 points from their last eight games. As well as this, they have an absolutely superb recent record for BTTS encounters, with thirteen of their last fifteen games finishing via this outcome. Opponents Accrington are also is decent form themselves, and run of six games without defeat has seen them shoot up the table to eighth place. Like Northampton, their last match was also a victim of the adverse weather and this will only be the second match they will have played in the whole of December. Although this is certainly the toughest of the three to call, both sides have excellent BTTS records at 68% and 65% respectively which certainly covers that base. Northampton's terrific form over the last three months, though, is swinging my decision towards them.
