Watford v Tottenham Betting Tips, Preview and Predictions

Watford v Tottenham Hotspur predictions, preview and football betting tips for this week’s Premier League fixture and the best odds for our three footy tips.

Two of the Premier League’s most in form teams go head to head at Vicarage Road on Monday night as seventh placed Watford host fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur and our preview includes three Premier League predictions.

Watford v Spurs Predictions

The Hornets have taken an astonishing 13 points from their last five games, and although Spurs have two wins on the trot, they will need to be at their best to come away from Watford with the points.

Watford seized a point on Saturday at Stamford Bridge in an enthralling 2-2 draw with struggling Champions Chelsea. Odion Ighalo put The Hornets 2-1 ahead in the 56th minute after Troy Deeney had converted from the penalty spot to cancel out Diego Costa’s scrappy opener.

However, Costa was at it again just 10 minutes after Ighalo’s strike, as the Spaniard latched onto Willian’s delightful through-ball to slot post Heurelho Gomes in the Watford goal to level the score at 2-2.

Despite failing to hold their lead, Watford manager Quique Flores will have been delighted at his team’s performance, and after Oscar managed to sky a late penalty horribly over the bar, Watford’s luck was no more than they deserved, and a draw was probably a fair result.

Given that The Hornets were many people’s first pick to go down at the start of the season, nobody would have predicted that they’d be leading the Champions by 10 points after their Boxing Day clash. Much like Leicester City, Watford have defied all expectations since being promoted, and they will prove an extremely tough opposition for a hard working Spurs side on Monday.

It’s safe to say that Spurs had a much easier time of it than Watford in their last match. As we predicted with three winning football tips, Pochettino’s side managed to coolly dispatch a Norwich team who showed no signs of the lightning quick counter-attacking that saw them upset Man United last time out.

As we also predicted correctly, in-form England striker Harry Kane snatched the opener from the penalty spot, and then managed to grab himself a brace just before the break. Spurs’ youngster Tom Carroll notched a late third to make it 3-0 to Tottenham and sealed what was an easy win for Spurs in a match they dominated, from almost start to finish.

Looking forward to Watford’s clash with Spurs on Monday and our Premier League predictions, both teams are very much in form, and it will be tight. Looking at the form guide for the past six games, Watford are second in the table on 13 points, and Spurs are fifth having grabbed three wins, two draws and just one defeat from the last six.

Given the form, and both side’s obvious confidence, it’s extremely difficult to pick a winner from this game. For this reason, I think the most likely outcome between the sides is a draw.

My first Watford v Tottenham prediction is for the match to end a draw, the best odds for this are 19/5 with 888Sport.

Watford v Spurs predictions

In Odion Ighalo and Harry Kane, both Watford and Spurs have strikers bang in form. Given the way both teams set themselves up, I doubt this match is going to be lacking in chances.

My second Watford v Tottenham prediction is for both teams to score. Odds of 10/11 can be found with Betfred.

Open a BETFRED account and bet £10, win or lose you’ll get a £30 free bet.

In terms of anytime goalscorer bet tips, I am torn between picking Kane or Ighalo. Both of them are playing at the top of their game, with confidence in abundance, and seeing as both teams are likely to score, you wouldn’t bet against either of them notching yet again.

Seeing as he did the business in my predictions on Saturday, I’m going to whack my money on Harry Kane netting against Watford.

My final Watford v Spurs betting tip is for Harry Kane to score anytime and the best odds are 6/4 with Sky Bet.
