MK Dons v Ipswich Town Betting Tips and Predictions – 12/12/15

MK Dons v Ipswich preview and football betting tips for this weekend’s Championship clash live on Sky Sports with the best odds four our three footy tips.

It’s not been a vintage first few months in the Championship for MK Dons. There’s no doubt they are doing their best, but they have a chronic lack of goals; the complete opposite situation to last season – can MK Dons beat Ipswich this weekend?

MK Dons v Ipswich Betting Preview

MK Dons host Ipswich, fresh off the back of Mick McCarthy winning manager of the month for November & Daryl Murphy being name player of the month. The Tractor Boys let themselves down with a lacklustre performance against high flying Middlesbrough last time out, but the fact they couldn’t score against an imperious Boro defence isn’t a slight on their attacking quality.

Although Dons form isn’t so bad at Stadium:MK, they might be worried about the fact that Ipswich have scored eight goals in their last two away games. They’ve had their mid-season slump and they’re back in business and aiming for another shot at the play-offs.

The visitors have lost just two of their last eight games, those to Hull and Middlesbrough whilst the home side have only won one of their last eight, which was a 1-0 victory here against Charlton.

Eight home goals all season is a paltry total and Karl Robinson will be desperate for his side to give more to entertain the home faithful. They lack a goalscorer – last season they had Benik Afobe and Will Grigg, both of whom are plying their trade elsewhere now. They’ve only scored three goals since the 20th of October and Dean Bowditch has two of them. They now have Nicky Maynard and he bagged the other one, but he is injury prone and they need to invest in the January transfer window otherwise they could be facing an instant return to League One.

Friday was the first time that Ipswich failed to score since a 0-0 draw at the end of October with Cardiff and I fancy them to take advantage of MK Dons’ poor form here.

My first MK Dons v Ipswich betting tip is for a match prediction and I’m backing Ipswich to win. They can be backed at 13/10 with Paddy Power.

Ipswich conceded twice to Middlesbrough, they should have defended the first goal better, but there wasn’t much they could do about the second from David Nugent. They have kept six clean sheets this season whilst MK Dons have failed to net in a third of their home matches.

My second MK Dons v Ipswich prediction comes from the BTTS market and I’m tipping both teams NOT to score. It can be backed at Evens with William Hill.

It’s hard to back against player of the month Daryl Murphy for my anytime goalscorer tip this weekend. He didn’t do it for us last Friday, but he was well-marshalled by the Middlesbrough defence. He might find a little more space here and could take advantage.

My third MK Dons v Ipswich betting prediction is for Daryl Murphy to score anytime. He can be backed at 2/1 with Betfair.
