These two sides are in the same league following Bury’s recent promotion and the TV cameras always pick up on this fixture due to the close friendship of managers Keith Hill and David Flitcroft, who worked together for many years before heading their separate ways.

Rochdale are an excellent home side and pick up the majority of their points here. Although they had been going through a tricky patch until their 2-1 victory over Port Vale last weekend. After such an impressive run of victories on the road, Bury have now lost their last four away games including defeats to Gillingham, Shrewsbury, & Bradford. Flitcroft made his dugout debut at Spotland and has promised he won’t let his emotions get in the way as he returns to the foot of the Pennines. But, he has work to do to get his side back fit and firing in this clash.

 

Tricky winger Joe Dodoo, on loan from Leicester is ineligible for this match and that’s a blow for the visitors. On the plus side, there will be plenty of fans cheering on their side as 1,500 Shakers fans are expected to make the short trip across.

 

Just two goals in four away games is worrying and despite being three places above their opponents, I fancy the home side to come out on top for my FA Cup football betting tips this weekend.
