Brentford v QPR Predictions
Brentford have really turned a corner under temporary boss Lee Carsley. The former Birmingham man claims he isn’t interested in the job full time, but his players are making a pretty convincing case for him. It’s not evidently clear what changes Carsley has implemented, but it is obvious that the players are behind the boss and they are both believing and buying into his system.
The Bees are on a three match winning streak, beating Rotherham and following it up with convincing away wins at Wolves and Charlton. The win over the Addicks prompted the sacking of their head coach Guy Luzon. They return to Griffin Park full of confidence and will be hoping to give the home fans something to cheer about, but will Brentford beat QPR this week?
QPR beat MK Dons 3-0 at the weekend, but they haven’t been convincing on the road and a loss here will only add to the impatience of the fans, who are sceptical about the current regime. The R’s are very inconsistent, but one thing they do very well is score goals. One thing they don’t flourish in is keeping clean sheets. Just one clean sheet away from home came against Huddersfield whilst they’ve only kept the opposition out in 23% of their games this season.
Brentford have recently kept two clean sheets in a row, but haven’t managed it on home soil yet. Perhaps their recent shutouts can inspire another solid defensive display here, but facing the division’s joint highest scorers, It will extremely tricky.
With ropey defensives on show, but potent attacks, I think this game has all the ingredients of a high scoring affair. With 20 goals shipped in 13 matches by the home side and 22 by the away side, this game must surely have entertainment from both teams.
