Neil Redfearn and Steve Evans have essentially swapped jobs! A couple of months ago, Redfearn was in charge of Leeds, guiding them to safety after a tumultuous season at Elland Road whilst Steve Evans was preserving Rotherham’s status during their first season in the Championship.
Evans was a leftfield choice to take over the Leeds hot seat, after the dismissal of Uwe Rosler, but there’s no doubt, he seems to have an impact and he built a Rotherham side that lacked flair, but were hard to beat. Neil Redfearn has inherited the squad and his first target is to add a few more goals. They got a hard fought 1-1 draw with Reading in midweek and considering the Royals’ recent imperious form, it was a terrific point gained. Sheffield Wednesday are not terrific travellers, picking up just six points from six away games and this won’t be easy against a spirited Rotherham side. They drew a blank against QPR in midweek, but the loss of Modou Sougou to a horrific looking injury won’t have helped matters. Under Ricardo Carvalhal, they have a little more flair about them, whilst possessing a battering ram in the shape of Adthe Nuhiu. The Austrian can ruffle the feather of any defence with his height and physicality and he will be a thorn in the side of Rotherham all evening.
Rotherham’s problem last season was too much chopping and changing when it came to personnel and there were a number of loan players under Steve Evans, who arrived and didn’t even get a game. A steadier starting 11 will surely create consistency and therefore the results will follow.
Injuries are starting to clear up with Danny Ward and Lee Frecklington close to comebacks whilst despite Joe Mattocks injury sustained at Brentford last weekend, isn’t as bad as first feared and he may be involved, as might Joe Newell, in Rotherham’s starting 11 against Sheffield Wednesday.

Rotherham have scored and conceded in all of their last four games and only one of their last eight games have finished with a 0 in the score-line. Despite the aforementioned two 0-0s, Sheffield Wednesday have scored and conceded in six of their last eight games and I fancy the same to occur here. 87% of the home side’s games here have finished with both teams scoring and over 50% of them have ended with over 2.5 goals.

Jonson Clarke Harris is a hard player to work out.
