It’s been quite a turnaround for Huddersfield, they’ve really turned a corner of late. An away win at Charlton was good, but the 4-1 dismantling of Bolton was very impressive on Saturday. It’s no secret that they’ve used the loan market effectively and bringing in Emyr Huws and Mustapha Carayol has certainly paid dividends. The latter adds a directness and a sprinkling of pace to the side, whilst the former will develop into a fine midfielder and is already showing signs of being a top player.

 

Chris Powell was quick to praise former Forest man Ishmael Miller for his battering-ram cameo role against Bolton and he may get a start here.

 

Nottingham Forest had been showing significant signs of improvement, ending Birmingham’s unbeaten run at St Andrews and beating QPR in their own backyard. But they came undone against Middlesbrough on Saturday in front of the Sky cameras.

 

They did themselves proud though, playing their part in an entertaining affair and were unlucky not to take something from the game, including Henri Lansbury missing a penalty.

 

There’s no disgrace losing to Middlesbrough as they are one the best teams in the league, but perhaps Forest are better set up to play on the road this season.

 

Just two points separate these sides in the table and it should be quite closely contested.

 

I think Huddersfield’s confidence must be sky high at the moment, Chris Powell said he was hoping to help his group bond by travelling and staying as a team between games. Although, Bolton are no great shakes, 4-1 can only breed confidence.

Chris Powell described Emyr Huws as ‘perfect midfielder for me’ and he is seen by many to be a replacement for Jacob Butterfield if they can sign him permanently. I think both these sides will want to get on the scoresheet during the match and I need to find a bet for tonight to back up that prediction. Forest equalised within three minutes of going behind to Middlesbrough and should have levelled it with the penalty. They look more an attacking threat with the additions of Nelson Oliveira & Ryan Mendes. They also look susceptible at the back too and I think Huddersfield can take advantage of this.
