Derby v Leeds Betting Tips and Predictions

Derby v Leeds betting tips and predictions for this weekend’s Championship football with our free football tips.

Both of these sides are still awaiting their first maximum haul of the season. Neither side have managed a victory in the Championship yet, so surely something has to give at the I-Pro Stadium!

Championship Predictions – Derby v Leeds.

If you’d told Derby fans that they’d only have taken four points from their opening four games, they’d presumed you’d made a mistake. The Rams have been far from their best in their opening games and have looked lacking in ideas. Injuries haven’t helped matters, with Will Hughes being ruled out and Jeff Hendrick also picking up a knock, but they have enough firepower to suggest they should be higher in the table.

With the capture of Darren Bent, Andreas Weimann and the already dangerous Chris Martin & Johnny Russell, it seemed that Derby would be unstoppable this season, but Paul Clement hasn’t taken to English football management as smoothly as he would have liked.

At some stage, something will click and they will hammer an unlucky opponent, but until now, they seem to favour the 1-1 scoreline.

Which brings me nicely onto Leeds…

Uwe Rosler’s side have drawn all four of their games also, two of which have ended 1-1. With a 0-0 and a 2-2 in there, they have covered most scorelines in the draw category this season, but just seem unable to finish teams off.

Chris Wood has started scoring for the Whites, which is a positive sign and Stuart Dallas has slipped effortlessly into the side. There is plenty to be positive about for both sides, but patient is a virtue and it just hasn’t quite happened yet for both of these.

When you look at previous results, it’s so tempting to predict the run coming to a crashing end, but the draw does look the most likely result for my football betting tips on this one.

It’s an easy prediction, but Leeds are tough to beat and if Paul Clement wants his first three points, he might have to face an easier opponent.

My first Derby County v Leeds United prediction is for the match to end a draw, the best odds are 29/10 with Bet Victor.

This match shouldn’t end 0-0, there’s far too much attacking talent on offer for there to be few goals. Derby looked dangerous against Birmingham and with Tom Ince pulling the strings on the wing, they always have a chance of finding the net. Leeds have only drawn a blank on one occasion this season and that was at Reading.

My next football prediction for Derby v Leeds is for both teams to score, the odds are currently 5/6

Chris Martin has one goal, but Derby’s top scorer is Johnny Russell. The Scot has pace to burn and an eye for goal and is the man mostly likely to open up the Leeds defence. With new signings Darren Bent & Andreas Weimann yet to open their accounts, it would seem Russell is the most likely and is a decent price to do so.

My last Derby v Leeds prediction is for Johnny Russell to score anytime, the best odds are 9/4 with Bet365.
