Football accumulator tips for this week’s Capital One Cup matches on Tuesday 25th August 2015 from our expert football tipster.
There is plenty of action on Tuesday night as the second round of the Capital One Cup comes hot on the heels of the previous round. There’s plenty of interesting and intriguing games and a recipe for a few shocks as well, here are our football accumulator tips.
Capital One Cup Accumulator Tips:
Crystal Palace to beat Shrewsbury
Palace have plenty of strength in depth and that will stand them in good stead for a possible cup run. They have Glenn Murray and Dwight Gayle (who has been subject of transfer speculation) who haven’t been getting games in the League and this could be the perfect opportunity for a run out. Patrick Bamford hasn’t seen much action and Mile Jedinak and Jordan Mutch are superb additions to be able to add into the starting 11. Shrewsbury have previous in this competition, but this year, they are an average League One side and will be likely to want to put all their eggs into the survival basket
Preston to beat Watford
It just hasn’t happened for Watford in the Premier League yet, they haven’t managed a win. They have had to goalless draws at home and if their match against Southampton is anything to go by, it hasn’t been the most inspiring. With so much cash at stake they may want to rest some of their squad to keep them fresh for their next Premier League encounter. Preston are a decent outfit and only conceded their first goals of the season at the weekend (to a very impressive Ipswich), but they have goals in them and will be up for this
Charlton to beat Peterborough
Yes, this is a Championship team away from home at a League One ground and it’s a potential banana skin for them, but I’ve been impressed by the Addicks and they beat Hull at the weekend. The bookies keep writing them off and they are often a good price. Peterborough are poor this season and will be without Gabriel Zakuani who was sent off at the weekend. They have a lot of goals in them and if Charlton can take the tricky Marcus Maddison out of the game, they should have a relatively untroubled passage to the third round.
Ipswich to beat Doncaster
Despite the seemingly impressive signing of Andy Williams, the goals have dried up for Donny this season. Their only goals being the fluke strike by Harry Forrester which was on the controversial draw with Bury on the opening day of the season and the penalty against Leeds in the previous round. Ipswich have plenty of goals in them and can rotate their impress strike force of McGoldrick, Murphy, Sears and Pittman and should outscore Donny.
QPR to beat Carlisle
QPR beat Yeovil with relative ease in the last round of the competition and they should have little trouble here. Last time they were at Huish Park against a side who had been hastily put together pre-season. Carlisle have been shipping goals a-plenty and they will be under the cosh here. Charlie Austin is not likely to start, but they have Sebastian Poulter and Jay Emmanuel Thomas ready to start and should have far too much for the Cumbrians, who have a long journey back.
