Tonight’s Accumulator Tips:
Porto v Bayern Munich – Under 2.5 goals
Bayern Munich travel to Portugal for the quarter final match against Porto. The German champions are unbeaten on Portuguese soil and will hope to continue that run. It won’t be a walkover as many people predict with a litany of injuries blighting Pep’s squad. Arjen Robben and Bastian Schweinsteiger are just two of the bigger names who don’t travel and they will be pleased to get them back to the Allianz Arena with a slender lead. Ailments aside, Porto are having an excellent season and have 6 of their last 7 in the league and will be full of confidence. They may not be able to call upon Jackson Martinez and I think Bayern will look to keep possession and will be happy with a 1 or 2-0 victory.
Nottingham Forest v Watford – Watford win
Watford need the points to maintain their promotion push and we fancy them to win for tonight's accumulator tip. The Hornets have been superb in recent weeks and 2 consecutive 2-0 victories have shown some defence stability, something they haven’t been associated with this season. With Troy Deeney, Matej Vydra and Odion Ighalo up front, they have plenty of firepower and although the latter missed Saturday’s clash with a dogged Millwall, they still managed a couple of goals. Slavisa Jokanovic has made a couple of good additions to his squad with Ben Watson and Adlene Guedioura influencing the midfield and with Forest’s play off ambitions over, they could nick 3 points here.
Fulham v Rotherham – Both Teams to Score? Yes
These two teams have been looking over their collective shoulders for some time now. Neither of them are safe yet, but the incompetency of the 3 teams below them look like saving their Championship status for another season. Fulham have been disappointing and when Kit Symons was appointed they showed signs of a revival, but they haven’t been consistent enough and crucially they seem unable to defend. Talking of defensive frailties, The Millers aren’t a shining example of a solid backline either and with this in mind, both sides could find the net here. Ross McCormack and Matt Smith will surely breach the Rotherham backline. Whilst Rotherham score from all over the field and Fulham don’t do clean sheets.
Burton v Carlisle – Burton to win
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s record at Burton is tremendous, he has only lost a handful of games and has been in place since mid-November and he refuses to talk about promotion despite the Brewers being in a perfect position to secure it. His side will know that 3 points should be priority against a Carlisle side who still haven’t secured their involvement in League Two next season. Keith Curle branded his side ‘Unprofessional’ and ‘unfit to wear the shirt’ recently, but they wore it well in their 1-0 victory against Dagenham at the weekend. His side will inevitably pick up enough points to survive as it should only take another 3 or 4, but they won’t be doing it here. Burton have too much desire and they should pick up the points they need.
Celtic v Kilmarnock – Celtic to win
An obvious one, but it will boost the odds. Celtic are top of the league and although they couldn’t squeeze past Inverness they should have too much for second bottom Kilmarnock. Killy haven’t won in their last 5 away games, although they have drawn 4 of those however whilst Celtic have only conceded one goal in their last 4 goals. Ronnie Deila’s side should have too much for the away side and have won 23 matches this season, just losing 4 along the way. It should be food and drink for the Scottish Champions here.
