Blackburn v Liverpool – Liverpool to qualify

Blackburn will make it difficult for the visitors, there’s no doubt about that and the Reds will feel the pressure to bounce back from their humiliating loss to Arsenal at the weekend. This match could easily end 0-0 or 1-1 and find itself drifting into extra time, so whilst it’s only short odds, Liverpool to qualify covers a late Liverpool winner or a moment of brilliance in extra time. Blackburn have a smaller squad at their disposal and if the game does need an extra 30 minutes, this could make all the difference when it comes to possible changes.

Parma v Udinese – Udinese to win

The problems at Parma have been well documented and this game is being replayed as a result of financial restrictions preventing it from going ahead a number of weeks ago. Parma have just 10 points this season whilst it’s been a disappointing campaign from Udinese. They lie in 13th and have drawn their last 3 games. Parma got a creditable draw last time out against Inter, but Udinese should get the job done here.

Deportivo La Coruna v Cordoba – Under 2.5 goals

This game in La Liga sees two strugglers pitting their wits against one another, but neither side scores enough goals, hence their lowly positions in the table. Cordoba are pretty much a dead cert to be relegated whilst there is hope for Deportivo that they don’t go straight back down. Both these sides have scored less than a goal a game on average throughout the season and the only anomaly in recent weeks was the 4-3 game involving Sevilla and Deportivo, a rare goal fest amongst the gluts. Cordoba have only scored twice in their last 5 games and this game could be a struggle if you want entertainment.

Granada v Celta Vigo – Celta Vigo Draw No Bet

It’s easy to pick on a team who have lost 9-1 at the weekend, but I can’t see Granada getting anything against Celta Vigo. The away side are no great shakes, but they restricted Barcelona to just a single goal the other night and they are comfortably midtable in La Liga. The home side are scrapping for their lives, but they demonstrated the kind of defending against Real Madrid that illustrated just where the problems lie. Celta Vigo have nothing to play for and may try out a few younger players, hence why the Draw No Bet may be a more sensible option, but they should be able to compound the misery on Granada.

Raith v Cowdenbeath – Raith to win

Cowdenbeath have a poor away record, they’ve lost 11 of the last 16 games on the road and Raith have won their last 3 at home, so this should hopefully go to form. Last time out at home they beat Hibs 2-1 and dented the Edinburgh’s side’s promotion hopes and are generally playing well on their own patch. It is a longshot, but Raith have an outside chance of getting a play off place and there is still plenty to play for here. They should have too much for Cowdenbeath.
