West Ham were in an excellent run of form before Newcastle derailed them 2-1 at St James Park last weekend. They were disappointing in the game and didn’t start playing until they were already losing. Man City on the other hand are a bit of an enigma, especially away from home. Kevin De Bruyne hasn’t yet performed as well away from home as at the Etihad this season and you feel if he isn’t at the top of his game, City do struggle in the final third. The return of David Silva will help him out, but Raheem Sterling is starting to struggle for goals now as well.

 

West ham have been very impressive at home this season with their record standing at 4 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats. The two defeats both came in August to Bournemouth and Leicester so they’ve turned the Boleyn ground into a bit of a fortress and will be keen to extend their 8 match unbeaten run at home.

 

My first football bet tip for this match is for it to end all square. City still haven’t kicked into gear away from home, and with the semi-final of the capital one cup next week looming, their minds may not completely on the game. West ham are excellent at home, and with the return of Payet sees them possess a real threat going forward.
