Watford vs Leeds United Betting Tips, Predictions and Preview

Watford vs Leeds predictions and betting tips for this weekend’s FA Cup fixture on Saturday 20th February with the best odds for our three football tips.

Watford host Leeds United at Vicarage Road in the FA Cup 5th round fixture on Saturday and we’ve got a betting preview and three bets. Can Leeds upset their Premier League opponents?

Watford vs Leeds Predictions

When the draw was made I imagine most fans of both clubs were feeling fairly neutral as they’ve both been given not the best teams left in the competition, but not the worst either. They’ll certainly both fancy their chances at getting into the quarter finals of the competition.

This match would probably be harder to call if Watford were in the midst of a relegation battle. I say this because they would possibly rest players as the Premier League would take priority. Instead, Watford find themselves very comfortable in mid-table, with no real concerns of being dragged into a relegation fight. This is probably their best chance in years to play with freedom and really give the FA Cup a good effort and see how far they get.

Leeds are an inconsistent team, and their results have been pretty random as they recently drew 0-0 at home with Middlesbrough and in their previous match lost at home to Nottingham Forest. They may have an eye on the league still as they are currently in 16th place, so by no means completely safe from the relegation zone.

In this game my first Watford vs Leeds prediction is for Watford to win. Some people might say that 4/6 is fairly short, however on the face of it you’ve got a struggling Championship side with bigger priorities away at a mid-table Premier League side with nothing to lose with two of the most in-form strikers in the country in Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney. Betfred are offering 4/6 for a Watford win against Leeds which are the best odds.

My second bet is for a half time/full time punt. I do think Watford will press Leeds from minute one, and I think they’ll want to win the game as early as possible just so they can bring off their better players around the 70-minute mark with the job done.

My second Watford vs Leeds United prediction is for Watford to be winning at both the half time and full time mark and the best odds are 13/8 with Bet Victor.

My final bet is a first goalscorer tip rather than an anytime goalscorer. Troy Deeney in the last few months has really found his feet in the Premier League, and has really led his team from the front and been a superb captain all season. He would love to get his team to Wembley, and he also takes Watford’s penalties, so another reason to favour him over Ighalo.

My last Watford vs Leeds United betting tip is for Troy Deeney to score first, the odds for this first goalscorer are 9/2 at bet365.
