Thanks to Leicester City's remarkable exploits at the top of the table, Watford have been steadily flying under the radar so far this campaign. New manager Quique Flores has certainly hit the ground running in his debut season, and his Watford side now sit as high as seventh in the table thanks to a run of five wins in their last seven matches. 

 

Whilst the likes of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo will rightfully receive most of the plaudits for their excellent form in the final third, a lot of credit has to go to The Hornets defence as well. Watford have in fact got the sixth best defensive record in the division at present, better than Manchester City, Southampton, and this weekend’s opponents Liverpool. 

 

Jurgen Klopp's side head south this weekend off the back of a disappointing couple of results. The Reds had previously recorded back to back wins against Manchester City and Swansea, but in true Liverpool style, then went on to slip up in games they were expected to win. Although, the loss at Newcastle was slightly unfortunate, last weekend's draw at home to West Brom will have left a particularly sour taste in the mouth following several missed chances and a nasty injury to Dejan Lovren. 

 

Nevertheless, Liverpool do remain strong on their travels in recent games and have already recorded away wins at the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Southampton. Although the latter result came in the League Cup, a 6-1 scoreline against a full-strength Saints side at St Mary's certainly highlights the potential dangers ahead for Watford this weekend.
