Weekend football tips for a both teams to score and match result coupon on Saturday 15th August at the massive odds of 52/1 with Betfred.
With the new season up and running and a jam-packed Saturday of football in store this weekend, we've had a rummage through the fixtures and found three contenders for a BTTS win treble. The straight accumulator comes in at 52/1 with Betfred, but for those seeking a little insurance, a trixie would return 13/1 for the double with the lowest odds.
Both teams to Score and Match Result Betting Tip:
Derby v Charlton – Derby to win BTTS 11/4
In the space of a few months last season, Derby County went from being favourites to lift the Championship title, to finishing down in 8th place. The Rams were still in with a chance of reaching the playoffs on the last day of the season, only needing to beat a struggling Reading side that had not won for nine straight matches. Derby County lost 3-0, Steve McLaren got the sack, then took over at Newcastle United. Football is a funny old game sometimes. Heading into the new season and Derby now have the highly reputable Paul Clement in charge. Although the Champions League winner has not endured the best of starts – a drab 0-0 against Bolton and crashing out of the League Cup – Saturday's clash will be his first in front of the home fans. Considering this, I expect Derby to get back to winning ways in my football tips. Opponents Charlton have started the season well after a home win against QPR and were also a top 6 side in the BTTS rankings last year, so I can see them getting some chances to make their way onto the scoresheet.
Nottingham Forest v Rotherham – Nottingham Forest to win BTTS 11/4
Everybody has that one bogey team that seems to ruin their accumulators, and for me, that team is Nottingham Forest. With this in mind, I head into this next selection with great trepidation! Although Forest have not started the season well after losing their opening match in the Championship and bombing out of the League Cup, they come up against Rotherham United. The Millers avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season and have not started this campaign any better following their shambolic 4-1 home defeat to newly promoted MK Dons. Despite their hugely unpredictable nature, Forest have some terrific players in their squad that are capable of causing the best of sides problems. I expect this to go down as a home win, and considering Forest had the second best ratio for both teams scoring last year, a BTTS win at that.
Scunthorpe United v Crewe – Scunthorpe United to win BTTS 11/4
For our final selection we head down to League One and Scunthorpe's home tie against Crewe. Unlike my previous choice, Scunthorpe were a real lucky charm for me last year. Despite not winning a huge amount of games, they had one of the best BTTS records in Europe at a whopping 70% and were frequently the first tick on my coupon. No matter how unlikely the scenario, Scunny usually found their way onto the scoresheet. This was epitomised last weekend as they trailed Burton Albion 2-0 with ten men, but still managed a last minute goal to notch that all important BTTS outcome. Nevertheless, this doesn't necessarily guarantee a win this weekend. However, considering they are playing perennial strugglers Crewe Alexandra, and they are unbeaten in their last seven home league matches, I fancy this to be a win for The Iron.
