Saturday’s Man of the Match Betting Tips

A lot has changed since the last time a ball was kicked in the Premier League, and it could be a tough week for the player market punters but we wil try to find some Man of the Match betting tips.

Picking a starting eleven is almost as difficult as picking a Man of the Match this weekend, with managers having to decide whether to thrust new signings into action. Also, the international break means players will be at different levels of fitness and with the Champions League approaching some key names could be rested.

This makes MOTM betting that little bit more difficult, particularly as the market moves fast and prices soon shorten- so do you take the gamble and hope the team news on the day is kind?

One player that is far from a new signing, but still carries a similar risk is JUAN MATA, who has been priced up by Bet Victor at a tasty looking 16/1 in Chelsea’s clash with Everton. He has trained all week and should be ready to play 90 minutes- and if he does, the little Spaniard will hold the key to unlocking Everton’s sturdy defence.

I daren’t mention the next tips name after the midweek fiasco but GARY CAHILL is certainly due a MOTM award. He has impressed all season and was immense for England against Ukraine, leading to a fiery Twitter response when he didn’t officially pick up the award to the angst of his backers. He is a player slowly picking up the attention of the pundits, which is all-important, and 20/1 represents great value.

From an Everton perspective I like the look of new-boy and 14/1 shot GARETH BARRY. He will receive plenty of attention from the pundits going into the game and will be tasked with stopping Chelsea’s immense creative talent. This price should hold firm so it’s worth waiting for team news.

Before that game there are two lunchtime kick-offs with Manchester United facing Crystal Palace on BT Sport, whilst Sky Sports airs Burnley vs. Blackburn.

DANNY INGS has to be backed for Burnley at 7/1, with the youngster doing brilliantly to fill the massive void left by Charlie Austin so far this season. At the other end of the pitch JORDAN RHODES (8/1) has bagged four in his last two matches and is hard to stop once he gets going. These two men will probably be the deciding factor in what should be an entertaining match.

In the other early kick off on-the-ball punters could have nabbed ROBIN VAN PERSIE to be the highest rated player at 7/1. That price was soon backed into 4/1, but is still worth backing as the award is mainly decided upon goals and assists, and Van Persie is the only real contender for me.
