In a week that has already seen Jose Mourinho relieved from his respective duties down at Stamford Bridge – with Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal also edging ever closer to the chop after suffering another humbling loss with the Red Devils – it now looks like Pep Guardiola could very well be on his way to the Etihad at the end of the season, with Carlo Ancelotti all set to replace him at Bayern Munich.
Manchester City’s reported interest in the former Barcelona boss has hardly been muted over the last few seasons, placing current manager – Manuel Pellegrini – under more pressure than necessary on many given occasions.
However, as the 44-year-old Spanish tactician would most likely prove a positive addition amongst the Premier League when all is said and done – just how have City supporters and general football fans alike reacted to the breaking news?
Well, although no particular motion has been definitively set in stone as of yet, many of the Etihad faithful have nonetheless greeted the story amid a general sense of positivity…
Honestly. Honestly. Every club should do whatever it takes to get Pep. If he goes #CFC, #MUFC or even #AFC, they WILL win the league!

The thought of Pep linking up with City has also proved a rather interesting turn of events for this former England international…
Wow….pep going to City….is this clarified, concrete news??? And @ManUtd losing….the day couldn't get much worse…

Even if this specific Swansea City fan may very well share a different take on the situation…
If Guardiola is such a good manager, wouldn't it be better for him to manage us to prove it? Rather than manage one of the already big clubs

However, some supporters out there nonetheless feel slightly sympathetic towards Manuel Pellegrini in this case…
If it's true pep guardiola is going to @MCFC I feel sorry for pellegrini, he's been a good manager for us, but I think Pep will get us UCL

With others calling into question the timing of it all…
Guardiola to #mcfc is great news for City fans. But the timing is all wrong if true. Lots still to play for THIS season!

It seems some fans certainly aren’t too keen on the services of Pep Guardiola though…
Guardiola to Manchester City?! This guy is overrated! He will rather go to a club that is already full with talented players #overrated

Despite operating largely as part of the minority of interested voices out there…
If Guardiola, the best manager in the world, goes to City, the richest club in the country, then everyone else might as well just give up.

So then, while Pellegrini doesn’t necessarily deserve to part ways with his current employers come the end of the season…
I will always love Pellegrini, what a guy, he don't even deserve to go, but Pep is the man for city, he's destined for this job

…the thought of Pep doing his thing down at the Etihad in 2016/17 looks all set to become reality in the not too distant future…
Pep Guardiola had a win percentage at Barcelona of 71.3%. He's improved on that at Bayern to just under 77% #SSNHQ pic.twitter.com/OG55trFEkd
