Whilst it remains far too early to judge the 23-year-old French international in his second spell down at the indomitable cauldron that is Old Trafford, Paul Pogba simply hasn’t reached those dizzying heights everybody was expecting of the former Juventus midfielder when he first made his big money switch to the Premier League this summer.

 

Looking back, £89 million was something of a ridiculous price to pay for a player who has so far achieved as little as Pogba among the elite European game – and although it does admittedly become a little tiring to see the midfielder heavily criticised every time he fails to put in a world class performance for the Red Devils – certain question-marks are nonetheless beginning to surround Manchester United’s latest big name acquisition.
