Leicester vs Swansea Preview

Leicester Team Preview

Leicester have had a slightly disappointing start to their domestic campaign, though only two games in, they’ve only gained a solitary point so far in a 0-0 home draw with Arsenal. The major disappointment is the 2-1 away defeat at Hull which many assumed would’ve been an easy three points for the foxes. This is a big game for Claudio Ranieri as he will expect his team to win this game, as home form will be vital if they’re to finish high up in the Premier League again this season. They’ll want to get as many points on the board before their Champions League campaign begins.

Claudio Ranieri has been underplaying his team’s chances this season stating it would be an achievement to finish top half. I believe he’s playing it right though, as he knows the extra games will take its toll on the team this season, as well as the fact many of the big teams have spent big to ensure they have better seasons this time around. I’m sure he would take a top 10 finish and to progress out the group stages of the Champions League if he was offered it now – Leicester’s odds to win their Champions League group are 2/1 with Stan James.

Swansea Team Preview

Swansea are a team who’ve had an inconsistent start to the season as well. They started off with a professional 1-0 victory away at Burnley which on paper looked a tricky first game to have. They next hosted Hull at the Liberty Stadium which is usually a fortress for Swansea, and yet they lost 2-0 to Hull. They dominated possession however never really fashioned many clear cut chances, and Hull took advantage of this by scoring from a set piece and also scoring a goal Barcelona would’ve been proud of. The signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson on a long term contract has appeased the fans as losing him and Andre Ayew in the same transfer window would’ve been hard to take. They’ve got a club record signing in Borja Baston after forking out a reported £15 million on him from Atletico Madrid. He’s injured at the minute so will have to wait to make his debut.

Leicester vs Swansea Predictions

My first Premier League betting tip for Leicester vs Swansea this weekend is going to be Leicester to win. Leicester beat Swansea 4-0 at home last season, and while I believe it’ll be closer this time around, it’s important to remember than Leicester have only really lost Kante from their starting XI, whilst Swansea have lost the goal threat from Andre Ayew, and more importantly lost their captain and talisman Ashley Williams who is almost impossible to replace. Checking the Leicester vs Swansea betting odds, the best odds for a Leicester win are 10/13 with Marathonbet.

My second Leicester vs Swansea prediction for this match is going to be for a penalty to be awarded in the game. Though a strange bet to go with, Leicester have tricky players in Vardy, Mahrez and Musa. They all have pace to burn and Fernandez at the back looks slightly clumsy, and in general Swansea look fairly slow at the back. This could be a mismatch and Leicester got quite a lot of penalties at the King Power Stadium last season. Bet365 are offering 3/1 for a penalty to be awarded.

First Goalscorer Prediction

My final Premier League prediction of the match is going to be Jamie Vardy to score first. He spurned a couple of chances against Hull and will be desperate to get on the scoresheet as soon as possible as more eyes are watching him this season. He’ll be keen to prove any doubters wrong, and Paddy Power are offering 5/1 for him to score first, which I think are pretty favourable odds considering his goal tally last season as well as the fact Leicester will fancy getting a couple against Swansea.
