Juventus v Barcelona predictions for the Champions League final 2015 and a 25/1 football betting tip for this weekend’s final.
The all-encompassing lure of Champions League football has got supporters from all over hooked for this weekend’s grand spectacle – and for those with a vested interest in Italian football especially, namely 2014/15 Serie A winners Juventus – this year’s final has an added dimension to it.
Juventus v Barcelona Prediction
Despite the league’s dominance in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, Serie A somewhat unfortunately no longer holds that same air of dominance that it once held all so well. For one reason or another, it’s becoming increasingly rare to witness an Italian team in the latter stages of the Champions League, let alone one going as far as the final.
But that’s why the 2015 Champions League final is so important. Juventus were completely written off when it was known that they’d face either Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals – yet as the boys from the Bernabeu failed to see off their determined Italian opposition – Massimiliano Allegri’s men ultimately proved worthy of their place in the final in the end.
So then, whilst Barcelona will still be going down as the clear favourite’s ahead of this Saturday’s final, The Old Lady might just have some tricks up here sleeve that could well lead Juventus to the illustrious trophy…
The Tactics:
First things first however, this match is going to be tough for Juventus – no matter which way they approach it. For the Italians to go home successful, their usually strong defensive game is simply going to have to be on point.
The back-line must remain as resolute as ever, the midfielders need to be solidly organised when they don’t have the ball, and the whole Juve unit will ultimately be left with no choice but to defend together as one.
When the ball does come into their possession however, it will be for their attacking players to make the difference. The play therefore has to be swift, well measured, and error free if Allegri’s side are to ultimately prove victorious. If such a combination falters at any point, his team might just find themselves in trouble.
The Players:
For our Juventus v Barcelona predictions we think the Juventus boss is going to need all his players to step up their game this weekend, for Saturday’s final is likely to be the biggest game many of them have played in. The experienced pros in his side – Buffon, Chiellini and Pirlo – are going to have to keep things ticking over without letting the spectacle of the event make them lose their composure.
Andrea Pirlo in particularly will have to be at his best – for when the veteran Italian is – he can dictate proceedings and ultimately decide the outcome certain matches through his style and grace in the middle of the park.
The likes of Paul Pogba, Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata will also have to be at the races, as Allegri’s attackers will most likely be the ones to put the ball away for the Italians this weekend. Nonetheless, a small cameo from Fernando Llorente could well be in order if Juventus require a ‘Plan B’ at some point.
The Manager:
Massimiliano Allegri is notoriously well experienced in the Italian domestic league as someone with vast experience who knows what he’s doing. The same logic doesn’t exactly apply for him in the Champions League as well though.
The 47-year-old Italian cut his teeth at Calgari, but then subsequently moved on to AC Milan where many attribute the Rossoneri’s recent drop in form as partially his fault. A surprise move to Juventus then followed as Antonio Conte was asked to move on to the Italian national team – and the rest, as they say, is history.
Juventus continue to look a strong unit under his leadership, winning both the Serie A Scudetto and the Coppa Italia this season. The treble is therefore up for grabs for both managers this weekend in the Champions League final.
Champions League Final Prediction
Juventus have a good work ethic, and even better organisation across the pitch. There is no reason to suggest that the Italians won’t be able to frustrate Lionel Messi and co. as the Champions League final approaches.
As every single Juve player will have to be operating at their very best for the whole 90 minutes however, it’s still ultimately very hard to imagine Allegri’s boys beating Barcelona this Saturday. The odds stacked against them are simply too high as it stands – but as you can just never say never in this game – Allegri’s boys shouldn’t yet be written off.
