Juventus v Barcelona Betting Tips – Why Luis Enrique would be unwise to write off the Old Lady

Champions League final 2015 predictions for Juventus v Barcelona and today our tipster thinks Barcelona would be unwise to write off Juventus.

To say Barcelona are the favourites going into the much awaited 2015 Champions League this week, would certainly be something of an understatement.

Champions League Final 2015 Predictions

Luis Enrique’s side have been solid at the back this season, his midfield have continued the tikka-taka excellence shown under Pep Guardiola and Frank Rijkaard in the past – and as for the dynamic trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi up front – well, their talents have pretty much achieved more than words could do justice to throughout this season.

Juventus therefore don’t seem too well placed ahead of this year’s final, with nearly every fan, pundit and general voice in the footballing world seemingly giving them no chance against the formidable Spaniards.

As football still has that romantic unpredictability to it even in the modern era however, there nevertheless remain several important reasons as to why Barcelona would be unwise to write off the Old Lady just yet for the 2015 Champions League final between Barcelona and Juventus…

Juventus certainly still must be regarded as a very strong outfit in the European scene. You don’t get to play in a Champions League final if you haven’t warranted it – and as Massimiliano Allegri’s side successfully saw off Real Madrid in the semi-finals when no one gave them much hope – there is no reason to suggest that the men from Turin have to approach the final with any fear whatsoever.

The historically triumphant team have proved more than worthy of their positive status throughout the course of 2014/15. Juve not only claimed their fourth successive Serie A title in a row this year, but they also came home with their first Coppa Italia this season in over two decades. The Italians are therefore full of confidence at the moment, and rightly so.

At the back, Allegri’s star-studded outfit remain as resolute as ever. The likes of Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci – and Andrea Barzagli when it’s time to really shut up shop – prove to be solid time and time again for Juventus. In a similar style to Chelsea’s veteran captain in defence, Chiellini acts almost as if the Italian equivalent to John Terry. His leadership qualities really can have a major influence in big matches after all – just ask the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale how hard it was to break Juve down in the semi-finals.

The towering defender may also see this as a great opportunity to extract some much needed revenge on a certain Luis Suarez for his biting antics for Uruguay in last summer’s World Cup.

Just ahead of the defence lies the perfect Andrea Pirlo. The veteran Italian international has the ability to dictate proceedings when things are going well – and with the combative Arturo Vidal firmly in place to do the dirty work alongside him in the middle of the park – Juventus look very well balanced in the heart of their midfield.

In order to counteract Barcelona’s formidable attacking options however, the likes of Paul Pogba, Claudio Marchisio and perhaps even the recently emerging Roberto Pereyra, will have to be truly on form for their side next week. Attack is the best form of defence after all – so some really big performances will simply have to be given in this area of the pitch if Max Allegri’s side are to prove successful.

That then leads us on to Juventus’ own attacking stars ahead of the Champions League final. If the midfield prove capable of providing the ammunition for their strikers up top, then both Carlos Tevez, and semi-final hero Alvaro Morata, could actually have a game to remember. Both men usually look confident in front of goal on most given occasions – but as anything can simply happen in matches as big as this one – Juventus will have to hope that their strikers don’t feel the pressure too much in the final third.

With Fernando Llorente also in place to come on perhaps in the second half, Juve have in-fact covered a lot of ground throughout their starting XI, even if they seemingly can’t match Barcelona in terms of overall quality.

In conclusion then, Luis Enrique’s side still look to be the favourites ahead of the much anticipated contest. Across the pitch for Barcelona’s opponents however, Juventus still deliver some real quality in most areas – and should therefore not be written off in a hurry.
