Now that Manchester United have gone eight consecutive matches without a win in 2015/16, Louis van Gaal must subsequently go about his business down at Old Trafford with an intensified cloud of uncertainty hanging above his head.
His team have simply looked incapable of scoring enough goals throughout the course of the current campaign thus far, many big name signings have failed to achieve the desired impact for van Gaal based on their recent form this season – and as each of Stoke City, Norwich City and AFC Bournemouth have impressively triumphed over the Red Devils in the past few weeks – something clearly has to change sooner rather than later.
Louis van Gaal has nonetheless spoken of the possibility of quitting the role of Manchester United manager should his current circumstances continue to prove untenable, potentially leaving his position among the Red Devils dug-out to be filled across the remainder of the season.
So then, as Jose Mourinho is of course out of the job at this particular stage in the proceedings, would Red Devils fans really accept the former Chelsea boss at their club in 2015/16?
Well, although many Man United supporters seemingly bare ill feeling towards Mourinho for his past reputation among the English top-flight, some of the Old Trafford faithful nonetheless maintain an open mind on the thought of him operating at their club this season…
I want the lights at Old Trafford to go out, come back on, Jose Mourinho is in the dugout. Van Gaal has disappeared. Never to be seen again.

Imagine a Mourinho, driven by spite, in charge at Man United. Performances have been dismal from #MUFC under LVG; I know who I'd prefer.

There are still those who resent the enigmatic Portuguese boss for his attitude towards Manchester United in the past…
I mean I HATE Jose Mourinho, but the guy knows how to win. I wouldn't mind Van Gaal getting sacked, but if he replaced him…Hmm #MUFC

…but if these scarfs are anything to go by, Mourinho could be sworn in far sooner than most expected at Old Trafford…
Jose Mourinho scarfs are being sold outside Old Trafford this afternoon. Hahaha, how desperate are Man United fans?! pic.twitter.com/nRtIxcQHx4

Yet whilst some haven't exactly taken to the recent scarf development down at the club this season…
Anyone whos bought a mourinho in scarf outisde OT today should actually be banned from football. Shockin support #MUFC

…the majority of Red Devils supporters seem well and truly displeased with Louis van Gaal right in the here and now…
This will be United's worse run in 54 years, shocking football, wasted a fortune and insists on his clearly useless "philosophy" #VanGaalOut

So, although Jose Mourinho was once a rather obvious villain among the Old Trafford faithful…
If Jose Mourinho gets the job, after clearing away the "I hate Chelsea" thoughts, we'll all be excited… Lets be honest. #MUFC #LVG

…maybe the Premier League could soon bear witness to one of the most controversial managerial moves in recent history…
I've never liked Mourinho and I'm not gonna pretend to love him now. But he's a winner, and if changing the manager helps us, I'll back him.

All we can really do now, is watch this space…
Love him, hate him, disagree with his style of play, love his winning arrogance… whatever. Take Mourinho now? Y/N
