There is currently less than a month to go before the first long-awaited fixture of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign is finally ready to get underway, and for the many die-hard – and not so die-hard – Manchester United supporters across the country, such an event signals the start of a brand new era down at Old Trafford next season.
Jose Mourinho’s position among the Red Devils dug-out has long been confirmed for quite some time now truth be told, but as the former Chelsea legend didn’t exactly pay witness to a great deal of success among the Premier League last term, is the 53-year-old Portuguese tactician really destined to thrive at Manchester United with all things fairly taken into account?
Many Red Devils fans have already taken to the ex-Blues boss as you would have perhaps expected this summer…
Mourinho definitely right man for us. Perfect mixture of attack and defence. Going to work wonders for us ?? #mufc

…especially in light of the several new exciting additions already drafted in at Old Trafford throughout the transfer-window thus far…
Mourinho is shaping United crazy! These are the signings we needed going back to the top! #MUFC

And whilst Mourinho isn’t the only important factor in seeing Manchester United’s latest succession of big-name stars walk through the door at the club…
If Pogba does sign you have to give credit to Ed Woodward, kept DDG, bought in Mourinho and made top signings without CL football
— Ryan Müller (@ryanadams97) 28 July 2016
…things certainly seem somewhat different down at Old Trafford now that the former Chelsea manager has finally taken over…
It’s Mourinho, not Ed. without Jose, no top signings. https://t.co/rQ3NwVobV3

There are nonetheless those who are not expecting great things from Mourinho among the Premier League next season…
Mourinho will flop because he doesn't have Drogba, Lampard or Terry to give him a PL career anymore
— Benjamin (@DeGeaDepression) 25 July 2016
Yet although the Portuguese tactician is admittedly arriving at Old Trafford with a fair amount of well-placed critics obediently following in his wake…
I don't understand why rival fans are so hell-bent on convincing us that Mourinho is gonna be a flop ??like why this desperation? ??
— ♡#MUFC Girl♡ (@reshmikasingh) 22 July 2016
…and could easily fail to set the English top-flight alight at the first time of asking with the Red Devils…
Mourinho is gonna flop at Old Trafford. Fave this tweet
— Khotso (@K_DoN01) 6 July 2016
…Manchester United have arguably sealed their route back to the big-time with Jose Mourinho boldly calling the shots from the Old Trafford dug-out. It may take some time intially, but the man will surely succeed with the Red Devils one way or another…
As always, welcome to Jose Mourinho. Not his biggest fan, but the best possible choice for #MUFC.
