Weekend Football Accumulator Tip
Arsenal to beat Norwich – 4/7
Arsenal arrive at Carrow Road this weekend, looking for their first win in three after taking just one point from the last six which has somewhat damaged their title challenge. A fortunate home draw to Spurs was followed by defeat at West Brom last weekend, and they’ve dropped to fourth place as a result. They do however remain just two points off the league leaders Leicester, and have a good opportunity to get back on track against a lowly Norwich side. The Gunners have collected the most points on the road this term with five wins from seven, scoring 15 goals in the process.
The Canaries are just three points and two places above the bottom three, with just three wins to their name so far along with seven defeats. A narrow defeat at Chelsea last weekend was their fourth in the last five matches, and they’ve also lost two of their last three at home. Arsenal’s win in the Champions League on Tuesday came as a welcome relief and should give them confidence to get their league form back on track here.
Liverpool to beat Swansea – 1/2
Liverpool’s revival under Jurgen Klopp continued this week as they sealed their place in the next stage of the Europa League, and they look a good bet to earn another victory after their outstanding performance at the Etihad last weekend where they ran out 4-1 winners. They welcome Swansea to Anfield on Sunday, looking to improve on an inconsistent home record that reads 2-2-2 in terms of wins, draws and losses. And they certainly have a good opportunity to do just that against an out of sorts Swansea side.
The Swans have slipped down the table after their great start to the season, taking just four points from the last 15 on offer. Despite coming from 2-0 to Bournemouth to snatch a draw last weekend; their performance hardly warranted even a point and there is even talk that Gary Monk could be coming under pressure for the poor run of form. They’ve managed just one win on the road from six so far, with two defeats coming against newly promoted sides to highlight their issues. They do have plenty of quality in the side, but if performance levels don’t improve here; it’s hard to see anything other than a home win for the Reds.
Real Madrid to beat Eibar – 4/9
Real Madrid will be desperate to get back to winning ways this weekend after their humiliation in the El Classico where they went down 4-0 to a brilliant Barcelona team. They travel to Eibar on Sunday having lost two straight matches; slipping to third in the table as a result. A 3-2 defeat to Sevilla in their previous away game was their only loss on the road so far, and after scoring four against Shakhtar; it could be a dangerous time to face them with three points an absolute must.
Eibar are one of the surprise packages so far this season, and find themselves in the European places, just four points behind Real. Their only defeat in their last five came away at the Nou Camp and they’re four unbeaten at home; winning the last two. However, their two defeats this season have come against the two teams above Madrid in the table; highlighting the jump up in class between the title challengers and the rest of La Liga. With that in mind in certainly looks worth backing the visitors here; who will surely be doing all they can to win this one.
Juventus to Palermo – 6/10
Juventus travel to Palermo this weekend, looking to continue their recent run of form that has seen them climb the table after a disappointing start to the campaign. The champions have moved up to sixth off the back of three straight wins, just a point off the European places. Their away has been far from the standard they have set over recent seasons with just two wins from six, however a 3-1 win at Empoli last time out got them back on track, and a midweek win over Manchester City in the Champions League should have given them a further boost.
Palermo sit 14th in the table, just four points above the bottom three and with only four wins to their name thus far. Their home form has also been poor; collecting just two victories from seven so far with three defeats in their last five. In truth Juventus should have too much for the home side this weekend, and should have the quality to continue their winning run by taking another three points here.
