Euro 2016 Qualifying Accumulator Tips:

 

England vs. Lithuania – Over 2.5 Goals

England will be looking to maintain their 100% record in the Qualifiers with a win over lowly Lithuania. Spurs’ hotshot Harry Kane will be hopeful of making his debut in the clash and will no doubt be looking to continue his magnificent form for Spurs. England’s home form is very good and they will be very short odds for the victory. Given the current goalscoring form of the national team, I think we should be looking at more than a 2-0 victory in this one. Hodgson’s men managed a 3-1 win over Slovenia in their last qualifier, and given that Slovenia defeated Lithuania 2-0 in Vilnius; England should be able to comfortably put 3 or 4 past them at Wembley. The Three Lions boast a team of individuals who, at club level, are putting in some fine performances. Rooney, Henderson, Sterling, Sturridge and Kane will all be looking to continue their fine form and this should mean goals for England.

 

Slovenia vs. San Marino – Under 4.5 Goals

Slovenia will win this game, but San Marino come into it with confidence having gained their first points in the group with a 0-0 draw against Estonia. Estonia being the team that also defeated Slovenia in September. Yes, San Marino are terrible, it’s true, but I feel that there will be added pressure on Slovenia given that they sit in second place in the group behind England. A 2-0 or 3-0 victory will be enough to satisfy them and looking at Slovenia’s patchy goalscoring record, if San Marino bring their defensive resolve with them, they could well limit them to just 1. The odds for under 4.5 goals are 10/11 and so I feel this is a good reason to include it in the accumulator, despite San Marino being notorious for leaking goals.

 

Spain vs. Ukraine – Under 2.5 Goals

Despite Spain’s obvious advantage on paper, Ukraine are an extremely tough team to break down. They tend to concede very few goals and I feel that the pressure is all on the Spanish. This could easily lead to a sense of nervousness in the players and the crowd. Spain suffered a shock defeat to Slovakia back in October and they have been playing catch up ever since. Since their embarrassing display at the World Cup, they just haven’t been the same team as they were. Given the Ukrainian’s recent defensive form as well as Spain’s stuttering results in the group, I predict a low scoring affair.

 

Moldova vs. Sweden – Under 2.5 Goals

Despite being ranked 122nd in the world, Moldova are a team who have improved defensively over recent years. Admittedly, they don’t win a great deal of matches, but they have conceded just 6 goals in their 4 qualifiers so far. Sweden sit second behind Austria in Group G, and with a tally of just 5 goals in 4 games, the match up with Moldova does not look likely to produce too many goals. I expect Sweden will nick the victory but not by as many as they would like.
