Euro 2016 betting tips for a highest goalscorer of the tournament market – our tipster has found an 11/2 bet for his latest Euro 2016 prediction.
When I first thought about this market I instantly thought that the likely winners will also be the top scorers of the tournament. I then thought I’d delve a little deeper and really analyse likely fixtures as well as recent friendlies etc to really see if I still thought this.

Euro 2016 Highest Goalscorer Betting Tip
I think the tournament top scorers are going to be Spain. They’ve scored nine goals in their two warm up friendlies coming into this tournament, and yes they were against Bosnia-Herzegovina and South Korea but it’s the manner of the wins that was most impressive to me. In each game they looked in no more than 3rd gear, and could easily have gone for the jugular had they wished. The name which I think people will be purring about during the tournament will be Nolito. Some may have never heard of him, but for fans of La Liga, this tricky and talented winger has lit up the domestic league for the past three seasons for his club Celta Vigo. He’s scored 39 goals in 100 games for the club, which is some return given he usually plays left of a front three.
Let’s look at the group they’re playing in – Euro 2016 Group D. They’ve got Czech Republic, Turkey and Croatia in their group. They should quite comfortably finish top of this group, with Croatia being their toughest opponents. Spain beat South Korea 6-1 last week, and Czech Republic lost to South Korea 2-1, so that’s the level of opponent Spain are going to encounter, I’m not saying they’ll trounce them, but three goals could easily be managed. Turkey are little better defensively, but at the same time I’m not sure whether Spain have the capabilities to shut out the better opponents I think they’ll assume in some games they may concede, but will be very confident going forward of scoring more than their opponent in games.

A team with Iniesta, Koke, Fabregas and David Silva in their midfield is destined to dominate in the final third of the pitch. Sergio Busquets has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the world in the past five years, who will act as the anchor and try and give some balance to the very attacking side. Pedro and Nolito are likely to play wide of the main striker, where the big choice is to be made. Go with the young and put Alvaro Morata upfront, or keep the romantic story all football fans love to see and play 35-year-old Aritz Aduriz in his first and most likely last international tournament. This man has aged like a fine wine, his left foot is magical and his heading ability is probably as good as any other player in the tournament. He’s really found his home at Bilbao, scoring 36 goals in 55 games this season. I’ve tipped him myself to be Euro 2016 top scorer at 33/1, and although question marks over his starting place and whether he can play tournament football, I love an underdog, and if he scores a couple in the group stages, those odds will plummet to below 10’s.
After all this, I decided to do a Euro predictor, where I predicted the places of each team in each group, giving me the final 16 fixtures all the way to the final. Obviously this is down to opinions and could be very different indeed, but in my Euro 2016 predictor, Spain got to the final where they lost to France. On their way they played Austria, Poland and England. This was by far the easiest run of any other team, and you can easily see them getting two or three in each of those games if they were to turn on the style.
Spain are 6/1 (bet365) to be tournament top scorers. Even if you don’t agree with all my reasons above, you can’t argue with the value there! Don’t forget, never rule out a wounded animal after their group stage exit of the World Cup.
