Let’s face it, despite arriving amidst great hype and expectation down at Old Trafford just a short matter of seasons ago, Holland’s Memphis Depay has certainly failed to set the English top-flight alight with the Red Devils – with his future at Manchester United looking far from secure right in the here and now.
The former PSV favourite served to impress with the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil – but as the 22-year-old attacker has so far failed to assert himself at Manchester United, what does the future really hold for Memphis Depay with the January transfer window already fast approaching?
Well, some Red Devils fans clearly wouldn’t mind seeing the current Manchester United bench-warmer turning out at Goodison Park in the not too distant future…
So Memphis to join Everton on loan. Hope this will be the beginning of his revival. Good move Jose. ??

…and after the Merseyside club sent out a mysterious tweet regarding the 22-year-old wide-man…
? | Half time in Guinea and the hosts lead @YannickBolasie's DR Congo 1-0. Elsewhere, Memphis Depay has put @OnsOranje ahead v Luxembourg.

…perhaps there is more to this potential move than initially meets the eye after all…
Think a loan move for Memphis to Everton will be good for him and for us. He has ability just needs to play games

It’s just the type of move that seems rather well suited to the player in question truth be told…
Memphis on loan at Everton would be good. Dutch manager who rates him, PL football, a chance to build his confidence. Could be good for us.

…which after his indifferent start to life among the English top-flight…
Poor Depay. Imagine how bad things must be if you're actually looking forward to joining Everton.

…could prove pivotal for Memphis Depay one way or another…
Few reports that Everton wants Memphis on loan. I would like that he would get game time and maybe improve and build his confidence

Although he may not have been dreaming of an illustrious move to Goodison Park when he first set foot on these here shores…

…perhaps Everton could indeed begin to represent the ideal escape route for Memphis Depay in this particular stage of his career…
A team like Southampton or Everton will benefit so much if they manage to grab Memphis.
