Two in-form teams meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as league leaders Chelsea face West Brom in the 12pm kick-off. Here are my tips and predictions for the big game.

 

Chelsea are flying at the moment and have won eight league matches in a row and some of these matches including last weekend’s one have been against title rivals and they have still managed to get all three points. Antonio Conte got his tactics spot on last week against Manchester City where they were 3-1 winners away from home and this result installed them as title favourites with the majority of bookies and quite rightly so. They have no European football so all of their focus can be on the Premier League and this is a huge positive in the latter months of the season. They should have no problems beating West Brom on Sunday but Tony Pulis won’t make it easy for them.

 

West Brom are also doing remarkably well this season and are currently sitting in seventh place in the Premier League. Some fans were calling for Tony Pulis to be sacked at the start of the season but I bet they won’t be doing the same now with their lofty position in the league and attacking football. He built the foundations of a solid side last season and added in some quality in the summer and he has got a very healthy balance at the moment that is proving difficult to beat. Matt Phillips has been a revelation this season and seems to be getting better every week and I’m sure a Scotland call up will be coming very soon if he continues to play like he is. The last time West Brom face one of the top sides in the league they lost 4-0 at home to Manchester City and I’m sure they will put up a bigger fight than they did in that game on Sunday.

Chelsea are hoping that Diego Costa can shake of a muscular injury that has been troubling him this week and they will also make a late decision about midfielder Nemanja Matic after he was forced to miss the victory at the Etihad last week due to an injury.
