Boxing Day BTTS Tips

Liverpool v Leicester BTTS

With Leicester City riding high, a visit to Anfield will prove to be a stern test for both sides. Jurgen Klopp looked to have made an impact on Liverpool’s demoralised squad, but lately their form has plummeted and the Reds are now without a win in three. Whilst Leicester have scored in every single Premier League game this season, they have also conceded in 14 of their 17 games. Couple this with the fact that Liverpool have scored in all but one of their games at Anfield this season, and this clash is almost certain to produce the goods. The Red’s may well be lacking in form, but I expect them to raise their game against a confident Leicester team. I'm predicting a hatful of goals at Anfield.

Chelsea v Watford BTTS

Mourinho has gone, and Chelsea looked back to their best last weekend. Guus Hiddink has temporarily taken the reigns and I think Chelsea’s season may well be on course for a revival. However, Watford are performing fantastically lately, and the newly promoted Hornets find themselves in 7th place, and amazingly, just one point off the top four. Chelsea may well look to have found their rhythm again, but they still managed to concede a sloppy goal to Sunderland, and there is still an obvious fragility within the Blues’ defence. Watford absolutely battered Liverpool last time out, and their attack has so much confidence that I’d be hugely surprised if Chelsea manage to keep Ighalo and Deeney at bay, add this selection to your both teams to score bet on Boxing Day.

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace BTTS

Newly promoted Bournemouth have found a rich vein of form just when it matters most. They come into the clash with sixth placed Crystal Palace having won their last three on the trot, and are also unbeaten in five. Palace will prove a stern test, however, and both team’s scoring form suggests that this clash will not be lacking in goalmouth action. Eddie Howes’ side have both scored and conceded in four of their last five, whereas Pardew’s Palace have scored and conceded in three of their last four. Both sets of attackers will be confident of bagging a goal or two, and I think this one is an absolute nailed on for my BTTS tip.

Colchester v Southend BTTS

Colchester seem to be featuring in all of my BTTS accas in recent week, and for very good reason: they keep scoring and they keep having a nightmare in defence. Last time out was no exception as they lost once again, this time to Rochdale 3-1. The U’s last six games read like a horror story, as although their strikers keep banging them in – notching at least a goal a game – their defence has managed to let in an unbelievable 21 goals during this six game period. Colchester have by far the worst defensive record in the League with -22 and they still sit rooted to bottom spot. Southend are up in 7th place and have bagged nine in their last three, conceding three in the process. I expect the Seasiders to win, but, as ever, Colchester will inevitably bag a consolation.
