Both Teams to Score Tips
Bordeaux v Rennes – Both teams to score
Starting in Ligue 1 which can often be a mixed bag for goals, but this one could see plenty of goalmouth action. Rennes are having a decent season and are averaging 1.45 goals a game across the season. If you take their last four matches in isolation, they are averaging 2.25 goals a game, which is well above the league average. PSG have averaged 2.75 goals a game in their last four, but there doesn’t appear to be any other side in the league netting as often currently. They have only failed to score twice this season, once against Marseille and the other against the aforementioned PSG. Bordeaux have scored in nine of their last ten matches in the league and have been averaging just over a goal a game. Saturday was the first time they’ve scored more than a single goal in a game since the 22nd of November. Rennes have kept just five clean sheets all season, one of their most recent ones to out-of-form Guingamp. Bordeaux have kept some clean sheets recently, but they’ve been to low scoring outfits such as Lille and the aforementioned Guingamp, both of whom average less than a goal a game.
Feyenoord v ADO Den Haag – Both teams to score
Feyenoord are imploding in the Eredivisie. It’s four losses on the bounce for Giovanni Van Bronckhorst’s side and they’re in real danger of surrendering 3rd position to a pack of chasing teams led by Heracles and NEC. No sooner had they got themselves back on level terms against poor travellers Heerenveen on Thursday, they found themselves 2-1 down. It’s now a whopping 11 goals conceded in 4 matches, which is not far off a concession of three goals a match. To put that in context, bottom club De Graafschap have only conceded five in that time, whilst second bottom Cambuur have shipped seven. Feyenoord have conceded four in their last two home matches, when they’ve only conceded eight here all season. ADO Den Haag will find a way past them. The visitors have only failed to score once since the middle of September. The good news for those beleaguered Feyenoord fans is that they’ve only failed to score once in Rotterdam all season which was against Champions PSV recently. They’re still averaging a goal a game despite their poor form and take their place in our both teams to score tip.

Cambuur v Heerenveen – Both teams to score
Sticking with the Eredivisie here as Feyenoord’s conquerors Heerenveen visit Leeuwarden to face strugglers Cambuur. Cambuur have had problems keeping teams out all season and they’ve conceded on average two and a half goals a match this season. That has slightly improved as taking their last four matches in isolation, it’s an average of two goals conceded and the same for their last four home matches. That’s an improvement, but it doesn’t look like clean sheets are arriving anytime soon. Just a single shutout came back on the 19th of September against Twente. Heerenveen have been averaging 1.5 goals scored a game, but that’s gone up to 1.75 for their last four matches, so they’re in good spirits and should win this narrowly. Cambuur are now averaging above a goal a game, that’s in part thanks to their 4-1 win against Excelsior before Christmas. They’ve only failed to score three times since the middle of September, once against defensively resolute Vitesse and in this reverse fixture when they were defeated 2-0. Heerenveen have conceded 39 goals this season with 25 of those coming away from home, that’s 64% and I think Cambuur will find a way past.
Arouca v Pacos Ferreira – Both teams to score
Off to Portugal for our final selection as Arouca welcome Pacos Ferreira. It’s a top half of the table clash as 9th plays 5th and I think both sides can continue their decent scoring run. Neither side is suspect defensively with both only conceding just over a goal a game, but they rarely keep clean sheets and enjoy a goal or two. Both these teams have scored in nine consecutive games, which include matches against the top 4 and some of the better defences in the division. Pacos have conceded just 22 goals in 19 but have kept just a single clean sheet on the road since the middle of October. This was at low scoring Tondela. A side who average 0.68 goals a game. Arouca have kept just a single clean sheet both home and away since the 1st November and this was against Estoril, who have a slightly better record in front of goal of 0.94 goals a game but are the 4th lowest scorers in the league. Taking the last six matches, Arouca have been averaging 1.83 goals a game, which is up from their average of 1.25. Pacos have remained steady throughout the season. An average of 1.42 goals scored a game rises slightly to 1.5 based on the last six matches. I fancy both sides to find the net here.
