Everton vs Chelsea Prediction and Betting Tips for Saturday

Everton welcome Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea to Goodison Park after three straight draws, Roberto Martinez says it’s a fresh start after the international break and they will be hoping to get their season off and running with their first win of the season.

Roberto Martinez had a busy deadline day trying to fend off bids for Baines and Fellaini from Manchester United with the latter leaving, but he did replace him with Gareth Barry and James McCarthy who should make their debuts. They also made an excellent loan signing of Romelu Lukaku but he obviously won’t be able to play against his parent club. This will give Nikica Jelavic another chance to try and show his manager that he deserves to start over Lukaku and it may give him the motivation to do it, after two 0-0 draws goals are desperately needed.

Chelsea could hand debuts to new signings Samuel Eto’o and Willian after their arrival from Russian club Anzhi to bolster an already impressive squad. Mourinho’s Chelsea are also unbeaten with two wins and a bore draw against Manchester United last time out in the Premier League. They were also very unlucky in the Super Cup against Bayern losing out on penalties after conceding a last minute extra time equaliser. Chelsea hasn’t found top gear yet and Everton will be hoping they don’t find it come Saturday tea time.

This should be a tight game, Everton have also not conceded a goal in their last six at home and Chelsea’s more defensive tactics away from home under Mourinho, under 2.5 goals must be looked at.
