Whilst Sunderland fans reluctantly prepare for yet another season of potential heartbreak among the Premier League’s dreaded relegation zone this term, their local neighbours – in the shape of Rafa Benitez’ in-form Newcastle United outfit – are clearly beginning to experience some renewed hope for a change down on Tyneside.
The Magpies have recently concluded seven consecutive victories among the second tier of English football of late, producing a series of well-taken goals as well as a further flurry of strong performances for the St. James’ faithful to enjoy. When it comes to traversing the often troublesome nature of the Championship, Newcastle United really seem to know what they’re doing.
Fans of the Tyneside club just can’t seem to get enough of their current manager right in the here and now…
Clocks went back today which meant I had an extra hour to appreciate Rafa Benitez.

Rafa has certainly taken to life among the Championship rather well this season it must be said…
In Newcastle United's history, no manager (to have managed 25+ games) has a better win % than Rafa Benitez currently does.

…and as things are starting to look up for the St. James’ Park faithful of late…
Friendly reminder that next season we'll be a premier league team, managed by Rafa Benitez, with a huge transfer budget and no more Wonga.

…it remains difficult to envisage anything other than Newcastle being promoted as second-tier champions come the final culmination of the 2016/17 campaign…
Benitez working wonders at Newcastle. They will be back in the Premier league next season for sure. Might even win a cup. #COYS

Norwich City too, have looked in decent form so far this season…
Be quite surprised if Newcastle and Norwich don't both bounce back to Premier League.

So whilst things could still – theoretically – go horribly wrong for Newcastle United between now and the end of term…
Lads, as lush as it is getting carried away, this is Newcastle United. Take every game as it comes.

…surely it’s only a matter of time before we see the Magpies successfully plying their trade back among the English top-flight once again!
Newcastle have been playing in the Championship for 3 months and yet they've still won a Premier League game more recently than Sunderland. pic.twitter.com/n60IJFy5M3
