The Republic of Ireland are back in the European Championships for the second consecutive time, in 2012 they lost all three games in the group stages. It will be seen as four successful years for them now with qualifying twice.
Leading up to the Euros they had a decent qualifying campaign playing 12 games and actually winning six of them along with drawing four, with only losing two from the 12 they will be happy with their form and past games before starting their Euro 2016 campaign against Sweden on Monday 13th June in Paris.
Will Republic of Ireland Qualify from Group E?
Republic of Ireland actually don't possess a bad squad, they have Premier League players spread throughout, and if they play well together they can cause upsets. Averaging 1.8 goals scored per game in their qualifying campaign I assume most of the responsibility will lie on the shoulders of Shane Long, Jon Walters and Robbie Keane should they all travel. Long and Walters have shown us they have the talent and how they can get past some of the best defender in the in the league, saying that most of them defenders will be representing their countries this summer.
The Republic of Ireland are in Euro 2016 Group E alongside Belgium, Italy and Sweden and it’s safe to say this is going to be a tough group to qualify from. Belgium boast a young squad full of individual talent, Italy have a tough experienced defence but may lack a goalscorer? It is a surprise to see both Andrea Pirlo and Mario Balotelli left out of the Italy squad for Euro 2016. Sweden will obviously rely on Ibrahimovic and he can win games alone, as proven before. You cannot rule out any side in this group when trying to predict who will qualify from Group E.
End of an era – Andrea Pirlo has been left out of Italy's squad for Euro 2016. #oneofthehgreatest #bbceuro2016

The Republic of Ireland vs Sweden fixture could be the deciding fixture on who goes through in this group because it looks like a group were they can all beat each other. The Republic of Ireland are capable of taking a point against Belgium or Italy and if they do, they are going to give themselves a real chance of getting through to the last 16.
Trying to determine how far they will get this time around is tough to call. This group is one any of the four teams can win and who you think will go through will change every game. I believe that the Republic of Ireland stand a very good chance of going through, however they will rely on beating Sweden and taking a point from Italy or Belgium. That being said they would also require the others to draw a lot so no one runs away with the group. I think that a 2nd/3rd place is very possible for the Republic of Ireland if all of their players turn up. That is a big ask though after a long season and they may just fall short.
Although I would love the underdog of this group to get through and put themselves on the world map, they have a great chance but I think it is a little out of reach this time around and the Republic of Ireland will not be able to qualify past the group stages and sadly exit the competition early on, a banker for my Euro 2016 prediction is Republic of Ireland NOT to qualify at odds of 7/10 with Betfair and you could go one step further and bet on Republic of Ireland to finish bottom of Group E at odds of 13/10 with the same firm.
