Both Teams to Score and Win Tips Saturday

Liverpool v Newcastle – BTTS & Liverpool Win

Jurgen Klopp has enjoyed a near perfect seven days of football with his Liverpool team. He managed to get the better of his old club Borussia Dortmund in one of the most staggering comebacks you’re ever likely to see last Wednesday. And this 5-4 aggregate victory in the Europa League was followed up by consecutive league wins, a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, followed by a midweek demolition of their hapless Merseyside rivals Everton by four goals to nil. Newcastle, buoyed by victory over Norwich at the weekend and a gritty 1-1 draw with Manchester City midweek, now look ready to mount a decent fight against relegation, albeit with only 4 games remaining. The Magpies are just two points from safety, and with some much improved recent performances under new manager Rafa Benitez, the Toon Army will certainly put in a shift against Liverpool on Saturday. However, such is Liverpool’s form and confidence at the moment that I fully expect them to pile on the misery for relegation-threatened Newcastle. Benitez’s side will surely scrap for everything though, and I expect them to get on the scoresheet during the match. Ultimately, I see this game resulting in both teams scoring and a Liverpool victory.

Accrington Stanley v York City – BTTS & Accrington Win

York City’s season has been an absolute disaster, and they now find themselves on the brink of relegation. Third placed Accrington, by contrast, are currently embroiled in a 4-way scrap for the two remaining automatic promotion places. York’s season has been a defensive shambles, conceding 79 goals in their 43 League Two games – the second worst defensive record in the League. Despite their abysmal defence, York City’s attack cannot be to blame for their impending demotion from the Football League, and the Minstermen have notched up eight consecutive BTTS winners in League Two. With York’s Football League status hanging by the thread of goal difference, they know that their only chance is to try and win by as many goals as possible. However, Accrington must also win to keep up their chances of gaining automatic promotion with Oxford, Plymouth and Bristol Rovers hot on their heels. Accrington’s home record of BTTS winners is unmatched in the Football League, playing out 17 BTTS matches in their last 19 at the Crown Ground. Their form is solid and are unbeaten in five, and I fully expect Stanley to take all three points on Saturday. However, given the stats, I am confident that York will grab at least a goal in the clash. BTTS and a home win for this weekend’s next football tip.

Rayo Vallecano v Real Madrid – BTTS & Real Madrid Win

Our final clash for Saturday’s BTTS & Win tip comes from sunny Spain and involves a reinvigorated Real Madrid side eyeing the La Liga title. Boosted by Barcelona’s dramatic faltering form in recent weeks, Madrid have kept up the pressure with three wins on the bounce since defeating the League leaders 2-1 a few weeks back. Zidane’s side are currently on an 8-game winning streak, and I fully expect them to roll Rayo over on Saturday. However, Rayo have both the worst defensive record in La Liga, coupled with the best attacking record in the bottom half. Their last meeting with Real Madrid finished 10-2 to the Galacticos, and it’s easy to see that when Rayo face a challenge, they certainly don’t go into defensive mode. This gung-ho attitude has gained them 35 points from 34 games, and with five points separating them from the relegation zone, Rayo know that two more wins would seal their safety. In all honesty, with a title on the line, I cannot see Madrid slipping up. Rayo, as ever, will be attacking and will almost certainly concede a hatful to a rampant Madrid attack. BTTS and a Real win looks like a very good bet to finish Saturday’s BTTS & Win Treble.
