Euro 2016 Group B Preview: England

Euro 2016 Group B Preview and Predictions for England

The 2015/16 Premier League campaign really has served to excite this year it must be said. The likes of Newcastle United, Sunderland and Norwich City have reluctantly provided us with all the drama and sensation we’ve come to expect from the dreaded relegation dog-fight, whilst the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City have seemingly defied everybody’s initial expectations with their continued run of success among the upper echelons of the Premier League table.

Yet as the international scene is simply waiting patiently for it’s time to eventually burst onto the scene this coming summer, we’ve decided to begin our Euro 2016 Group B preview, with a closer look at England and everything Roy Hodgson’s side can expect to achieve at the highly anticipated competition.

Chances of success

Although the Three Lions clearly aren’t likely to walk away from Euro 2016 as the eventual winners of the entire tournament, relevant betting tips could still place England in a somewhat promising light this summer.

It isn’t completely impossible to envisage England achieving above and beyond our current predictions for Euro 2016, for as expectations surrounding the Three Lions national team remain at an all-time low at this particular stage in the proceedings, perhaps now would seemingly signal an opportune moment to place your bets on Roy Hodgson’s side finally coming up trumps for once.

Ones to watch

The two standout strikers of the current Premier League campaign simply have to arrive in the form of Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane, of Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur respectively. It is no surprise that both sides remain well placed among the league table right in the here and now, as each of the aforementioned front-men have simply been in scintillating form so far this term.

The main man for England at Euro 2016 could nonetheless turn out to be Tottenham’s Dele Alli however. The 19-year-old former MK Dons man has ultimately set the English top-flight alight this season, and doesn’t look like stopping by the time Euro 2016 finally comes around.

From the dug-out

Euro 2016 Group B Preview: England

Let’s face it – even if the likes of Vardy, Kane and Alli do in-fact serve to add a certain blend of positivity in and around the current Three Lions camp – Roy Hodgson isn’t exactly the most popular manager to ever try his hand among the England dug-out.

The former Fulham, Liverpool and West Brom boss certainly seems to know his way around the domestic game of course, but as England nevertheless looked largely unimpressive at both Euro 2012 and the 2014 World Cup under his so far questionable leadership, it remains to be seen whether or not Hodgson’s side will manage to thrive in France this summer.

England’s Euro 2016 Predictions

All in all, England certainly won’t be expected to perform any minor miracles among the upcoming Euro 2016 proceedings this summer. But as this current Three Lions crop do admittedly seem to offer a new sense of footballing identity and progress for their nation upon the international scene – who knows – maybe this really could be England’s year after all.

Hodgson’s side should therefore be viewed as dead-certs to make it past those all-important group-stages, and possibly even further for some of the more optimistic England fans out there!
