Both Teams to Score Tips 12th March
Morecambe v AFC Wimbledon BTTS
Our first pick for Saturday’s BTTS accumulator tips are our regular League Two BTTS winners, Morecambe. This week they come up against a Wimbledon team who are not exactly shy in front of goal either. Morecambe have played out 11 BTTS winners in their last 12 League Two games, and despite being placed 18th, the Shrimps are currently the fifth highest scoring team in the League. Wimbledon are chasing a play-off position and currently reside in seventh place. The Dons have played out three straight BTTS winners away from home, and eight BTTS winners in their last 11 League games overall. With both team’s rampant scoring records, and their overwhelming recent history of BTTS winners, this match is shaping up to be a high scoring clash. A definite pick for your weekend both teams to score accumulator.
York v Barnet BTTS
23rd placed York come up against 15th placed Barnet in League Two on Saturday, and despite the hosts facing a real possibility of exiting the Football League, York are still putting up a fight, at home at least. Four of York’s last five home games have finished with both teams scoring, and they also managed to put a three game home winning streak together, before losing 2-1 to Northampton, and 3-2 to Luton. Barnet are virtually safe from relegation, but they would also need a miracle to reach the playoff places. However, The Bees have scored in their last seven consecutive games, notching up four wins and a draw during this period. Their goalscoring form is solid, and when faced with the prospect of facing a York side who are scrapping for their lives, I’m pretty confident that both teams will be able to find the net in this one.
Accrington v Plymouth BTTS
A free scoring Accrington side come up against third placed Plymouth on Saturday, and looking at the statistics, this game looks like a nailed on BTTS winner. Accrington’s home BTTS form is unbeatable – notching up 13 BTTS winners in their last 14 games at the Crown Ground. Furthermore, Stanley haven’t failed to score at home for 19 consecutive League games. They come up against a Plymouth side who have relinquished their second place position in recent weeks, and who desperately need to start taking a few more risks in order to secure automatic promotion. Third placed Argyle have just one win in their last five, and this poor recent form is hampering their push for promotion. Accrington will sense the chance to get one over on their higher-placed opposition, and given Stanley’s adventurous tactics, I can see this game turning into a real high scoring affair.
Everton v Chelsea BTTS
Our final pick for Saturday’s both teams to score accumulator tips is the late kick off between Everton and Chelsea in the FA Cup. The Toffees are the joint second highest scorers in the League, and if they had got their defensive frailties under control, 12th placed Everton would easily be challenging for a top six finish right now. The Merseysiders played out a hugely entertaining 3-2 defeat to West Ham last time out, and I’m pretty sure we’ll be in for the same kind of free scoring affair when Chelsea come to town on Saturday. Chelsea were dumped out of the Champions League after being outplayed by a Zlatan-inspired PSG side on Wednesday. With their abysmal start in the Premier League, Chelsea have very little hope of making Europe’s elite competition next season, and an FA Cup trophy is their final chance at silverware this season. I expect Guus Hiddink to play a strong side, and given Chelsea’s recent domestic form, they will certainly make a game of it. Chelsea have played out eight consecutive BTTS winners in all competitions, and coupled with Everton’s free scoring, defensively-naive performances, I’m pretty confident that goals will flow at Goodison Park in Saturday’s 17:30 kick off.
