Man City vs Aston Villa Betting Tips and Predictions

Man City vs Aston Villa betting tips and predictions for this weekend’s Premier League match including a massive odds correct score tip.

Two of the Premier League's most out of form sides meet at The Etihad this Saturday as Aston Villa take on Manchester City at 3pm and our football tipster has three betting tips.

Man City vs Aston Villa Predictions

Manchester City might have one trophy in the bag already this season, but it is extremely unlikely that they will be adding to this come the end of the campaign. Although they look fairly set to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Manuel Pellegrini is going to need to dodge some serious bullets if his side are to progress any further than that point.

League form has certainly been the most disappointing aspect of City's season so far, though. Considering the amount of money they spent and the strength and depth of their squad, it is an absolute joke that they are currently fourth place and ten points behind league leaders Leicester with ten games to play. Not only does the title seem a distant dream now, even Champions League qualification looks far from set in stone following three straight defeats.

One positive for City, though, they are not Aston Villa. The Villains have steadily been on the decline for a few years now and affairs have really come to a head this season. With the sales of Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph the club was always going to struggle unless they got their transfer business spot-on, and whilst Villa have shown a marginal improvement under Remi Garde, it's a far-cry from the miracle they needed upon his appointment six months ago.

Although Garde did steer his side through a reasonable run following the turn of the year, form has completely fallen away again and Villa have now lost their last three matches in row at an aggregate of 11-2.  Needless to say, a trip to The Etihad against a Manchester City side also desperate for points his hardly likely to yield much more than an absolute thumping, but they can take some solace in the fact they held City to an – albeit fortunate – 0-0 draw earlier in the campaign.

In the latest betting odds for Man City vs Aston Villa, City are understandable favourites at rather pathetic odds of 2/7. Villa can be backed at a ridiculous price of 16/1, with the draw on offer at 13/2.

Obviously I would have to be several sheets to the wind to suggest anything other than a City win for this weekend’s Premier League predictions. Although stranger things have happened, I really don't give Villa a prayer and the only question that remains is the manner in which Manuel Pellegrini's men will win their match on Saturday.

Based on the fact that Villa's last two defeats have come via a BTTS outcome, and the hosts have conceded eight goals in their last three games, my first Man City vs Aston Villa prediction is for Man City to win and both teams to score.

The best odds for Man City to beat Aston Villa and both teams to score is 2/1 at Betfred.

Moving over to the goalscoring market and just about everyone in the world is probably trying to crow bar Sergio Aguero into their fantasy football team at present. The Argentine has already equalled the most goals in a game record this season and could really be set to fill his boots against Villa on Saturday. Nevertheless, Aguero's first goalscorer odds are still fairly decent at 5/2 with Paddy Power, especially considering Kevin De Bruyne is out, Yaya Toure is struggling with an injury and Raheem Sterling can't hit a barn door from three feet. My second Man City vs Aston Villa prediction is for Sergio Aguero to score first, the best odds are 5/2 with Paddy Power.

Finally, for a bit of a longshot after those two rather steady Eddie bets, and with most bookies offering cash out these days, why not have a pop at an adventurous correct score tip. City have already put six past Newcastle, five Bournemouth and four Sunderland, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could do the same to Villa this weekend. Although my eyes lit up at 9-0 at 1000/1 (bet on 9-0 at Betfred), perhaps we should lower our expectations somewhat for our Man City vs Aston Villa betting tip and have a punt on 6-1 at 80/1 with Betfred. That bet might not look so silly if City are four up at half time – cue 0-0!

The best odds for Man City to win 6-1 against Aston Villa are 80/1 at Betfred.
