What a match this is shaping up to be. The title race is on a knife edge, with no team seemingly taking the Premier League by the scruff of the neck and stringing a run of results together.

 

Spurs will go in to the game with much higher confidence than Arsenal. They were on a fantastic run before losing on Wednesday night at the Boleyn Ground against West Ham. This, however will not dishearten Spurs fans as West Ham have been unbeaten at home since August, and with it being a derby as well West Ham were up for the match. By all accounts Spurs just didn’t turn up, which will make Pochettino ensure his side do turn up for Arsenal, not that the players will need any motivation.

 

Arsenal have lost their last two matches, away at Manchester United, and even more disappointingly, at home to relegation threatened Swansea. They’ve been lacklustre in both matches, with no attacking edge and looking weak defensively. What used to be a minority of Arsenal fans calling for the sacking of Arsene Wenger has slowly increased to what now seems the majority, with many citing this season as their best chance to win the league since the Invincibles.

 

This is the most anticipated and important North London derby in recent history, with the victors surely catapulting themselves into being the favourites for Premier League as the confidence the win would give would be incredible. Whoever loses is almost certainly out the race for the title.

 

My first Tottenham vs Arsenal prediction is for Spurs to win. I feel the atmosphere created, coupled with the fact they have been playing so well since Christmas and at home they are very strong. Arsenal are bereft of confidence, can’t defend, and are struggling up top as well. The poor form of Sanchez, Walcott, Giroud and Ramsey is also a major factor in why I think Spurs should have the edge.
