Although the UEFA Champions League may have indeed proved rather turbulent sailing for Arsenal this season, Arsene Wenger’s determined Gunners outfit have nevertheless impressed greatly within the Premier League in 2015/16, and could easily finish as domestic champions come the end of the campaign.
Such an outcome would have seemingly remained somewhat unthinkable for the Emirates faithful when the current term first got underway of course – for although the signing of Petr Cech certainly seemed like a promising one for the Gunners – Arsenal’s inability to capture one single outfield player admittedly felt like it would damage the team throughout the rest of the season.
So then, as Arsene Wenger’s side have nonetheless maintained a strong standard of performance despite being hit with several frustrating injuries this term, just who do the Emirates faithful ultimately want to see arrive at their club this January?
Well, even if some Arsenal fans can certainly be found with their head in the clouds this winter…
Arsenal should sign me next. I'd be a great youth signing. Practice every single Flippin day.

— Chain Smoker (@alexanderjulz) January 4, 2016
John Stones has emerged as a serious contender for several top clubs this January, even if Arsenal will have to wait until the summer to sign him…
Arsenal should sign John stones in the summer, suits Arsenal's style and a partnership with Koscielny would be unbreakable
— Flamini (@GoonerPresident) January 3, 2016
…whilst other sections of the Emirates faithful can be found casting their eyes elsewhere…
Arsenal should sign either nkoulou, caceres or matip if they go free in the summer and go for ibra would be so sick

Thoughts of this veteran Brazilian just won’t seem to go away either…
Literally think Arsenal should go out and sign Ronaldinho in the January transfer window. He's without a contract, and is up for a free.

…with a few more relevant names also doing the rounds this January…

Yet even in light of all this transfer related hype, some fans have been left less than optimistic over Arsenal’s chances of signing some real quality before the close of the window…
1st of jan only means one thing the transfer window is finally open, I cant wait to see arsenal sign no one.
— Lewis Crawley (@lewiscraw92) January 1, 2016
Such an outcome seemingly won’t take place now however, as the Gunners have already landed Egyptian international – Mohamed Elneny – at this early stage…
Glad to see @Arsenal have finally got the Elneny signing over the line. Good luck to what looks like a very promising talent! #ElnenySigns
— Ben Ashton (@benashton1993) January 14, 2016
If this goal by the former Basel star is to offer anything to go by, then Arsenal do in-fact seem to have landed a real star in the making…
