Leicester v Bournemouth – Leicester to win BTTS
Our opening selection for this weekend football tip comes from the Premier League as high-flying Leicester take on Bournemouth at The King Power. Claudio Ranieri's men have seen their wonderful form stumble slightly of late, but The Foxes still remain firmly in the hunt for the title and a top four place. Despite not scoring in their last two matches, these games were away to Liverpool and at home to Manchester City, so it's certainly worth taking those results with a pinch of salt. Leicester had in fact scored in their previous 17 straight matches, with 14 of those finishing via a BTTS outcome. Bournemouth are the visitors on Saturday and they themselves have seen a decent run of form hit the skids over Christmas with only one point taken from six available. The Cherries play some decent football, but their squad has been pushed to the limit following several key injuries and they also have the second worst defensive record in the division to boot. Chalk this one down as a BTTS win for the hosts.
Leeds v MK Dons – Leeds to win BTTS
Our second selection comes from The Championship as Leeds take on the MK Dons at Elland Road. Statistically, this choice isn't exactly the most encouraging, but Leeds have been playing some much more attacking football under new manager Steve Evans in the last few games and look a decent candidate for the treble this weekend. United are unbeaten in their last six matches and have taken points off the likes of title favourites Hull and Derby along the way. Opponents MK Dons have picked up a couple of wins over the last month, but these have both come on home soil. The Dons are absolutely appalling on the road this campaign and currently have the second worst away record in the division, with their only victory coming on the first day of the season. Leeds won the corresponding fixture earlier in the year 2-1, and I can see a similar outcome this time round.
Dover v Welling – Dover to win BTTS
Our final selection for the BTTS win tip comes from the National League as Dover entertain a struggling Welling United at home. Athletic do head into the clash in slightly dodgy form but remain fairly strong on their own patch. Dover currently have the fourth best home record in the division, and as fate would have it, actually beat Saturday's opponents away from home on Boxing Day by two goals to one. Furthermore, Dover also have the best ratio in the division for BTTS encounters, and have seen their last six straight home games finish via this outcome. Opponents Welling are in poor form at present following a run of eight games without a win. They are currently forth from bottom, haven't scored more than two goals in a game all season long, and I certainly don't see this changing against a free-scoring Dover side on Saturday. Nevertheless, the hosts haven't kept a clean sheet for their last nine matches, so I would be surprised if Welling didn't make it on to the scoresheet and complete our BTTS win tip.
