Leicester City v Bournemouth predictions and football betting tips for the Premier League fixture this weekend and the best odds for our tipsters’ three bets.
Leicester City host Bournemouth on Saturday looking to carry their wonderful form from 2015 in to the New Year. The game gets underway at 3pm and here are our match predictions and betting tips.
Leicester v Bournemouth Predictions
This time last season, Leicester City were rooted firmly to the bottom of the Premier league and staring relegation in the face. What a difference a year can make. The Foxes have been absolutely phenomenal in 2015 and are now in with a serious chance of Champions League qualification.
However, Claudio Ranieri's men missed the chance of finishing the year on top of the table after only taking one point from their last two matches. Nevertheless, these games came away to Liverpool and home to Manchester City and there aren't a lot of other teams that would fare much better.
One slight cause for concern, though, will be the fact that Leicester haven't scored in the last two games. They had actually managed to get on the scoresheet in the previous 17 matches, but despite this small blip, still remain the joint highest scorers in the division, with striker Jamie Vardy leading the race for the golden boot.
Opponents Bournemouth head into the match off the back of a 2-0 away defeat at Arsenal, but had managed to go the previous six matches unbeaten. This run included excellent wins against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, and despite their terribly unfortunate injury worries, Eddie Howe appears to be getting the best out of a very thin squad.
However, The Cherries do struggle at the back and currently have the second worst defence in the whole league. This certainly doesn't bode well ahead of a clash with the Premier League's top scorers, but the corresponding fixture earlier in the season did finish with the points being shared in a 1-1 draw.
Prices for the match have Leicester as clear favourites at 21/20. Bournemouth are available at 10/3, with the draw on offer at 14/5.
After only one point from their last two matches, no goals scored and at the end of a busy Christmas schedule, this is as good a time as ever for Bournemouth to try and take something from the game. However, Leicester have already shown great resilience this season and I can see them getting back to winning ways this weekend.
My first Leicester v Bournemouth prediction this weekend is for Leicester to win, the best odds are 20/21 but if you open a new Betfair account you’ll get a massive 6/1 – BET AT 6/1 HERE.
Moving over to the goalscoring market and I'm backing Rihad Mahrez to add to his impressive goalscoring tally already this season. The Algerian international has arguably been the player of the season so far and should retain penalty kick and dead-ball duties for the match.
My second Leicester v Bournemouth betting tip is for Mahrez to score anytime and the best odds are 15/8 with Stan James.
Finally for a slightly left-field punt, and between the two sides this season, there have been a whopping 16 penalties awarded and conceded between them. With this in mind, back a penalty to be awarded in the match at 3/1 with Sky Bet.
My third Premier League prediction for Leicester v Bournemouth is for a penalty to be awarded at 3/1.
